MKX order tracking

I think, as you have alluded, the 'perceived' colour is highly variable depending on the vehicle's surroundings. In mine, the dark green leaves coupled with the asphalt surfaces common to my area (no concrete!) makes Luxe look darker whereas a dull background (dormant grass) with light concrete and a winter sunset makes the paint look much more earthy and brown. I doubt it's a variability in the actual paint mix process.

Just got word my MKX is in and ready for pick-up. Heading there this evening and cannot wait! I know mine was an exceptionally fast order, but here's to hoping that those waiting on their own MKX won't have such extended times anymore.

Order placed 1-18-2016

Invoice created 1-29-2016

Built 2-8-2016

Delivered 2-24-2016

Total of 5 weeks 2 days! Far better than the expected 8-12 weeks estimate we were given.

Was finally able to find and download my Window Sticker, anyone know about how long it takes from build date to dealer delivery?

On the sticker does it says "Convoy" or "Rail" in the "Method of Transportation" box?

It says Convoy.... not sure what that means, hope they aren't going to drive it all the way here and load it up with 1,200 miles!

Yeah, they just unplug the speedo... Not.

Convoy is normally by truck.  Since I was less then 5 hours down the roads it was very fast, 2 days between completion and delivery at the dealer.

I'm guessing a week in your case.

From build to destination took 5 weeks by rail for my MKX last fall (2015). Allegedly, there was a rail car shortage circa that period of time. In your favor now is that MKX production is well past the early build period when vehicles with VINs simply disappeared, never to be seen or heard of again, likely withdrawn from retail sale by Lincoln due to QC issues. Those vehicles were probably donated to schools & body shops for training.

Not likely. Normal procedure is to repair, issue a special title and send to auction.

Believe it's called a "buyback" title.

I am posting this for reference for others whom have placed orders for a MKX as a reference. I thought it might be a useful general post.

Ford Custom Order Tracking: http://www.cotusb.ford.com/

(This site allows search by Order Number/Dealer Code/Last Name)

Ford ETIS: http://www.etis.ford.com/

The above custom order tracking site has never worked for me.  Is there a trick to it?

Wow, 5 weeks, that's crazy!

VisionPilot,

Where exactly did you find your window sticker?

My MKX Reserve AWD order was entered by the dealer on 07/14/16.

On 07/19/16, the dealer was able to give me the VIN.

As of today, entering the VIN on ETIS just gives me a general description of the vehicle without options (2016 MKX Reserve, AWD, Luxe, etc.) and a default build date of 30.11.0002.

With all that said, the dealer's ETA to the Twin Cities, Minnesota is the first two weeks of September..  So in my case that is roughly 6-8 weeks to delivery.

Just checked with the dealer, it's on a rail car!  So, I'm guessing I should see it some time next week, hopefully.

Hopefully but unless you live where the train stop it could be a bit more.

Where ever the train will unload your car it will be convoy to your dealership.

Getting excited!

I'm two weeks and three days from the date I placed my MKX build order with the dealer.

I have the VIN, and ETIS is still showing the generic build date 30.11.0002.

Entering the VIN on window sticker lookup site still shows "Check back later. The window sticker has not yet been released for this vehicle."

This is like being a kid and waiting for Christmas morning to arrive...

Ahhhhh when???

Must be that "new" math the neighbor kids are talking about. Looked at one of the questions in their "bring homes". (We used to call the "homework", but hey, it's a new century.

Anyway, Train A leaves the station at 10 am. Train B leaves it's station at 2:30 pm and there is 600 miles separating them. What is the size of the engineers shoes. (The correct answer was 11 wide. Boy did I feel dumb).

"New math"...  Hahaha!

Don't feel alone, enigma.  I've seen the "new math" and don't understand it either.  But then again, I'm smart enough to round up a 12-year old when my iPhone or an app is acting up, so it's all good...
