Cosmos36
I guess the question now would be, does the light-speed VIN arrival insure a similarly speedy build and transit in view of the airbag issue?
DZDub
I guess the question now would be, does the light-speed VIN arrival insure a similarly speedy build and transit in view of the airbag issue? Good question! I hope it will be a speedy build. The last time I talked with the dealer, they mentioned the order is showing clean. Having worked for many corporations, a clean order is manufacturing speak for -..the parts in inventory required to build the car are present and available at the plant. Now just need to get it on the build schedule for designated allocation of said parts! We'll see!
DZDub
Well, all I can say is that I am truly impressed by the Concierge service manager who is now emailing me bi-weekly updates on my order status. Blown away by the customer service improvement!! I only thought this level of interaction was possible from Lexus. It seems like a small thing to get updates, but the fact that I can be kept in the loop is fantastic. Unfortunately, my MKX is still not on the build schedule yet though. Bummer!! This is what Lincoln expects all dealers to do, but unfortunately they can't force them to do it.

It would be disappointing if Lincoln is not able to channel the customer service methods through their dealer network. I would hope that at least the BL certified dealers have a higher standard Edited June 9, 2017 by DZDub
akirby
It would be disappointing if Lincoln is not able to channel the customer service methods through their dealer network. I would hope that at least the BL certified dealers have a higher standard I think Lincoln corporate could do a much better job with customer service if they tried. Maybe Fields just didn't give them enough budget to hire enough people. But when it comes to dealers, they're independent businesses. Ford can suggest and assist them in improving the customer experience including building new dealerships but they can't force them to do anything, even if customers are complaining. Hopefully having a few of these upgraded dealerships in each area will cause the others to either change to keep up or just go out of business. Perhaps there is a higher level of commitment with Black Label certification. If not there should be.
DZDub
My window sticker was generated late last week.. Woohooo!! It has 2 dates at the bottom.. One in the green block as part of a longer code (06 08 17) and one outside in the border of the sticker (06/15/2017). Not sure what they mean. Hopefully, one means it was built and will be in transit by rail shortly. If so, maybe a faster than expected delivery time.. Crossing fingers. Now just need to decide if I am going to trade or auction off my Lexus on ebay as the delivery time draws closer.
Cosmos36
Congrats...the # outside the border is the date the sticker was generated. The longer alpha numeric # above it is the vehicle production date.

NOTMY911
Nothing to do with the train speed. Unfortunately it's how along its going to sit a the yard at your end.
Cosmos36
My custom ordered MKX made a rapid trip from Oakville to the Seattle distribution about 200 miles north of my dealer and then lingered there for several days while my Ford $750 discount coupon expired. Appeals to Lincoln were denied.

However, doesn't look that straightforward unless i missed it somewhere on Lincoln's website. Of course, its easy to get the online version of the brochure. It looks like I'll get the $1,000 rebate + $750 Conquest Cash + X plan.. not sure if I can stack on the $750 coupon if I can get one. Might be worth it to get that brochure if I can figure out how to get the mailed version with the coupon.
