walkabout
The dealer is not going to hold a car for three weeks. They pay finance charges every day it is on the lot. It would cost them a ton of $ to do that. Nobody but you is going to want a BL with the obsolete 3.7 engine anyway, especially with the Nautilus a few weeks out. So, it would likely sit on the lot unsold for quite sone time if you don't buy it. I bet you the dealer would ultimately have to dump it below invoice. That's why I ordered it with 3.7L, so it doesn't get sold too fast, more cashback rebates, while I'm working hard to improve my credit score to 720 and above. I planned this all out meticulously, actually. This is California, where leasing is usually more popular in Blue states by per capita number, so dumping out new vehicles for thousands below-invoice is not a common problem in this area. I've seen many new cars cost less in Texas and Florida than in California, sold for loss below-invoice, because leasing is less popular. Adam
I planned this all out meticulously, actually. Obviously not, since you need your dealer to hold the vehicle on the lot for a month while you wait for your credit score to improve.
waltcmusic
Obviously not, since you need your dealer to hold the vehicle on the lot for a month while you wait for your credit score to improve. Dealer stated to me it will arrive by July 20th. So, it's only 10-15 days delay. Completely normal... Credit score always update on 1st day each month, while new rebates increase each month. walkabout
Leasing does not affect the price at which cars are sold. You negotiate the out the door price the same either way. You can then choose to either finance with their incentives or lease, given whatever their rates. I went to Galpin Lincoln out here in LA. I told then the price I was willing to pay. They agreed. We then went over the available finance rate for buying, and they money factor for leasing. I then chose to lease. I would like to know where you are getting your data that suggests leasing is more popular in "blue" states and prices rise with lease rates. Or, is this just more made up crap like your rants about "flimsy" FI engines, the 3.7 getting better mpg, being quieter, and more reliable than the 2.7, heat from turbos causing my car to stall etc? Do you ever get tired of manufacturing this stuff?
waltcmusic
I would like to know where you are getting your data that suggests leasing is more popular in "blue" states and prices rise with lease rates. I measure popularity of leases determining by German luxury auto sales. By per capita, California sold more new German luxury leases than any other state. If you travel to Nebraska or Kansas, for example, BMW and Mercedes-Benz sales do poorly there, as most of new vehicle sales are Big 3 instead. NOTMY911
When the weather is warmer, the used cars tend to have more miles on odometer than in snowy area. It's difficult to find any lease-returned vehicles in California after 3 years with less than 15,000 miles. Purchase or lease is still up for debate by me (on-topic). Obviously you got a comprehension problem... Did you signed a contract when you ordered the car, simple Yes or No.
waltcmusic
Did you signed a contract when you ordered the car, simple Yes or No. Yes... I have a copy of the deposit receipt, and I already wrote my address on pending bill of sale. My only concern with this order is whether or not I qualify for near 0% (or low) APR at best, 84-month term deal, and cashback rebate increases to over $2,500 again. Lincoln already reduced cashback rebate by $750 for June from $2,250 to $1,500, and there's no way I'm buying this for $1,500 off. My minimum cashback rebate requirement is $2,500 for August, and $3,000 recommended by September. We'll see how Lincoln does for MKX year-end incentives. Future is always unpredictable (I'm a stock trader also, and there could be a stock market flash-crash on September 2018, be prepare...), but I'm always praying for the best. Like walkabout said earlier, this MKX I ordered won't get sold too fast, so there's time for me to prepare. NOTMY911
I hope you do qualified for 0% but if you don't you are on the hook. So, i'm not too sure what this nonsense (from a previous post of yours) mean: ... That's why I ordered it with 3.7L, so it doesn't get sold too fast... thisguy159
Every Millennials will say this way. We can afford to take delivery, but we'll always be struggling financially. Normal process... Stop hiding behind the millennial BS. You are not self aware at all...millennial is not another word for stupidity. Millennials are not interested in mkx or BMW for that matter. They are interested in tiny houses and Priuses. The garbage that you regurgitate daily asking questions that are irrelevant not on topic and often you probably know the answers to. When not asking questions you make factual statements based on conjecture or make statements so out of left it exasperates many here. Notice how nobody has yet has defended you though many here have been nice and patience with you...I'm not one of them since I guess technically I'm a millennial too and find your behavior off-putting and an interruption. Yes, absolutely no regrets with how I ordered. 3.7L was the successor engine to 4.2L OHV found in 1997-2008 F-150 after Canadian Essex engine closed (for a few years, reopened again later to build 5.0L V8 Coyote engines). Both 3.7L and 4.2L are industrial-quality engines sold by Ford Power Products too. This is my reason why I ordered 3.7L instead of 2.7L Ecoboost because Ford Power Products don't sell 2.7L at this time.

waltcmusic
I think I'm going to keep this thread quiet now. I will return back in mid-August or early-September if my purchase or lease comes out successful or not. Post #178 (deleted by moderator, so I'll just edit this post): "Thank you very much for restoring order here. My Lincoln dealer contacted me that my MKX order is scheduled to arrive on July 18. I will let you know whether I successfully take delivery or not by August-September timeframe." Edited July 8, 2018 by waltcmusic
