Based on reports that people have had the fix performed and STILL have exhaust fumes in the car leads one to believe that Ford really doesn't understand exactly what's causing the problem. ConCutter19 Posted November 27, 2017 Report Share Posted November 27, 2017 Our 2015 MKX recently started smelling like natural gas (rotten eggs). It is coming in through the air conditioner vents. There should be some way to fix this. There have been a lot of complaints on the internet regarding this problem in Ford and Lincoln vehicles. Does anyone have a solution.It's come up here in the past. Could be a leaking seal on the PTU or the vent flap is sticking open in the back. There are TSB's covering both. RRivera Posted August 19, 2018 Report Share Posted August 19, 2018 Had the same issue. Sulfur smell occasionally after hard acceleration. Took my 2017 MKX in for service, told them about the TSB, and though the number here is wrong, there is a TSB for it. They were well aware of it and fixed it under warranty. Can find more detail about exact TSB and what they did if folks want. Hasn't been that long since I got car back, but so far so good.
