elijahbird7
I was just looking at a local Lincoln dealer's inventory online and they are showing a black one with the 21" Fan Blade wheels. This is the first one I have seen locally. I pulled up the window sticker, and it does not have Sync3 however. End of vin# is 42116.
IggyAZ
OK. Do you have a question or comment about it? Edited January 9, 2016 by IggyAZ
elijahbird7
To be more specific, since these wheels were listed as a late 2015 option, and do not appear on the Lincoln Build and Price website yet..how many of you have actually seen these wheels on a vehicle in stock yet? Cosmos36
None in stock yet locally, but some ordered MKXs with VINs above 50XXX list the 21" polished wheels on the Monroney stickers. elijahbird7
I think this vehicle was built the week of November 9th, and was just listed by the dealer yesterday, so that should suggest build to delivery time...
fredluke
I ordered my MKX with the 21" polished rims. Asked salesperson about that option and he was reluctant to show me due to the late delivery time. He said end of Sept 15. I ordered the vehicle July 15 and received it Dec due to the late late wheels and the electric steering delay. So to answer your question there should be MKXs kicking around somewhere with those rims. I wanted them because the finished concept was at the plant and I made my decision then. It also had a beautiful console starting from the back of the front console and running up the rear seats. Amazing!!!! but not to be... because it would make the vehicle a 4 seater. elijahbird7
As of today, on www.lincoln.com, the "Build and Price" still does not show the option of the 21" fan blade wheels. Be nice if they kept up with production options.
LIVIO
Hey guys, I hope everyone is well. What is the deal with these Polished Wheels? The 21" Polished Wheels seem to be so elusive that their are only a few pics of them around and neither the American or Canadian websites include them with the Build & Price feature. I understand that here in Canada both the Adaptive Steering and Polished Wheel options were "Late Availability" however it's now a little ridiculous. I am personally just waiting to hear back from my local Lincoln dealer to let me know when 2017's can be ordered so I can order mine but I want both options ASAP. Any info or PICS of 2016 MKX with the Polished Wheels would be appreciated. Thanks everyone. Livio Edited January 31, 2016 by LIVIO
elijahbird7
Libertyville Lincoln is showing a white and ruby red with the fan blade wheels in stock. I may try to go by today to see them "up close and personal".
Cosmos36
A visit to the dealer's website reveals a substantial inventory of 13 MKXs & 19 MKCs in stock...impressive. There's photographic proof of the existence of the subject wheels also.
elijahbird7
I went by the dealership and took a few photos. Should show up on the home page..or check out my Gallery photos.
thisguy159
I know it to the eye of the beholder but to my eye this cheapens the car, would be more appropriate on the edge. The whole car finally looks like a good departure from the edge and these wheels feel early 2000's. There is already a LOT of chrome on the car, maybe to much. Cosmos36
IMO, those wheels would look much better on a car with blue dot taillights, chrome eyelids on the headlights, and a stuffed monkey hanging by one arm out of the hatch. elijahbird7
What I don't like is when modern wheels have a dark gray coating over the aluminum finish. It just makes them look dirty, as with brake dust that hasn't been cleaned. I do like the 22" wheels on my '14 better than the 21" fan blades currently offered. I think I will wait until the 2017 MKX and Continental are both available to make any decision.

LIVIO
Thanks everyone. Appreciate the photo's. I find that the 18's, 20's and 21's look too similar whereas the 21" Polished Wheels make the MKX look a little sportier and that's what I am looking for. I used to have a 2011 Ford Edge Sport with the 22's. Those Wheels are probably the nicest that Ford has ever made. I was constantly told how nice they were. If we all had the same opinion, our MKX's would look the same. Enjoy yours. Livio
elijahbird7
The Build and Price section as of today, still does not include the 21" Polished Aluminum Wheel option. I finally did the "Chat" on the Lincoln website to ask why not. The reply was they did not realize the option was not on the site, and the person would notify those in charge of the website to correct the omission of that option. Just wonder how long it will take. Any bets?
Cosmos36
LOL at Lincoln's innovative (?) reply.
elijahbird7
The response was,"Please wait while I try the Build and Price site, and tell me what version of the MKX you are trying to build, to make sure that option is available on that version of the car." She did say her Order Guide showed the option, but it took about 10 minutes for the response, that yes, it should be there, and no it wasn't there. If it shows up in a few days, I will be impressed, but I'm not that optimistic.
elijahbird7
Just got back from dinner with friends, checked the Build and Price section on the Lincoln website, and......the 21" Polished wheels are now shown as an option...way to go Lincoln!! That is pretty good response time. Of course since the MKX is build here (in Ontario) we will be the last one to be updated... Our Build and Price still does not shows the Towing Package or the Aluminium Trim option which I got on my order because I decided to check the US site.
