shoeguy
Just ordered myself a holiday present this morning. A Diamond Blue /Coffee Interior Nautilus Reserve, with 2.0 and I will retire to the dealer my 2016 MKX. I equipt the Nautilus with the identical options as the MKX, Driver Package, Technology Package, Cargo Prorection Package. Now comes the hard part an 8 week wait, maybe less as my dealer is going to try and change an existing stock order which was just searealized 10 days ago. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised that the 2.0 engine was not only strong enough for the car yet also as quiet as it is, even quieter than my 3.7 MKX. Gurgeh
Congratulations, Shoeguy! I placed my Nautilus order in mid/late November and instead of having to wait for late January (or possibly even early February), my dealer succeeded in doing exactly what you hope yours can do. They managed to modify an existing order they had made for lot sales to my specification. It was built a week and a half ago and is supposed to show up at the dealership any day now. And yeah, while I went for the tried-and-true 2.7tt, the 2.0t has been getting great reviews. Most reviewers noted the same thing you did, that one wouldn't know it was a 4-cylinder from its sound and feel. Plus, while you might not have quite the hp you had in your 3.7 you actually get more torque (which is what you feel anyway when you stomp on the accelerator), and with the lighter engine you'll get a superior power-to-weight ratio and more nimble handling. Welcome to the forum. Edited December 21, 2018 by Gurgeh Bad tone
MKXMark
As a 2.0 MKZ owner I can say it's a sweet motor, very smooth and quiet and pulls well. 50-80mph passing is a treat.
thisguy159
I can't wait to see them on the street. I saw 2017 or so with LEDs on it don't often see those because of the stupid packaging but I digress. Anywho LEDs look stunning so well done and I'm curious how the 19 will look as from the pictures it just looks more pedestrian now.
elijahbird7
Is 8 weeks now the average time to receive an ordered car? I have been trying to find a Blue Diamond with Slate interior, and can only find Cappuccino or Black interiors in dealer stock with Reserve and highly optioned, so I may have to order one. When I ordered my 14 MKX, it took exactly 5 weeks to the day that it showed up. I found my '16 at a dealer close to 200 miles away, but don't want to do that again, but the price was worth it. Just wish Lincoln would have a higher than $500 Cash off right now through April 1st. I can use the X-Plan, so maybe next week I will go to my salesman and see what they come up with including trade for a 14,500 mile Reserve that had an MSRP of $60,450. Yes, two months from ordering to delivery is about what it currently takes, unless you can find a dealer with a car already ordered for lot sales and can convince them to modify it to your specifications. If you luck out it could then shorten the time to 4-6 weeks.
NautiJeff
I ordered mine January 7th and my build date is March 28th. I've been told I should expect it to be delivered 2-3 weeks later after quality inspection and transport.

I have had my order with the dealer since the week prior to New Year. Same color Blue Diamond / Slate interior, with both Tech Packages. My dealer last week told me he has a derail number as well as build week of March 18, with an ETA of April 10. When I ordered my 16 MKX it was 7 weeks from order to on the lot. Lincoln is keeping a tight reign on inventory, this way it keeps transaction price high as well as incentives to a minimum. It will also help with resale value down the road , in theory. elijahbird7
My Lincoln only dealer has a total of 8 Nautilus in stock. A Ford/Lincoln dealer not far away has 46 in stock. I may end up staying with the Cappuccino interior rather than waiting 2-3 months. So if I do, it will be the 3rd one with that same interior. shoeguy
I originally ordered with Coffee interior, changed my mind on interior color the following day, as I really did prefer a light color interior. The MKX I now have has a Cappuccino interior and is the third one for me with this color , time for a subtle change. Timmer

That said, most of us are spending so much time stuck in traffic that it may not matter.
shoeguy
When I ordered my Nautilus I was all ready to go with the v6 till I drove it. Plenty of get up and go . Quiet and smooth as well. My dealer even told me the take rate for the v6 on Retail orders is barely 20% and for stock orders is even less. walkabout
I doubt that "take rate" is true. The distribution for the 3.7 and 2.7 was about 50/50 (if I recall properly) on the MKX. My guess is that it will wind up being something like 30 to 40 percent with the 2.0 and the majority with the 2.7. The only reasons to stick with the 2.0 are fuel economy and $ and I don't think that is going to be a motivating factor for most Lincoln buyers. The 2.7 engine is probably the highlight of the car, and I think most buyers will recognize that with one big BUT. The BUT is that everybody has different driving needs and there are always going to be buyers for whom the 2.0 makes a lot more sense. It is a jewel of an engine, no doubt. shoeguy
If you do an inventory search where I live in Canada and run through all the available inventory you will see those numbers are very close. That also could have something to do with $$$$. As the 2.7 engine is a $3,000 hit.

But different people are after different things with their upgrade dollars and most reviewers find the turbo charged I4 2.0 to be a better engine overall than the normally aspirated V6 3.7, so the numbers don't surprise me. Lighter, more fuel efficient, nearly the HP and better (and lower in the power band) torque.
elijahbird7
I thought with AWD, the 2.7L gets 1 mpg higher than the 2.0L on the Highway rating. ? Anyway, the 2.7L is one of the best engines I have had, except maybe my 460 HP 5.0L in my 18 Mustang GT convertible. Gurgeh

The 2.7 is indeed amazing. One thing to note, however, if you are getting the 2.7 you really, really need to get AWD as well to avoid torque steer and avoid slower acceleration off the line (as the power and torque of the 2.7 will lift weight off the front wheels on a fast standing start). walkabout
I totally agree with you about the torque steer issue. I think that will probably be somewhat of a problem even with the 2.0. I had a MKC loaner with the 2.0 and saw the issue there. If you live in a warm climate, it can be hard to find someone awd model. Dealers here in SoCal prefer not to stock anything but FWD. I still do not believe there will be anything close to a 90% take rate on the 2.0. I checked dealer stock here and it's essentially the same distribution as the 3.7. Roughly half the models on dealer lots. I also don't buy the epa numbers for the 4cyl because they diverge from the corresponding numbers for the Edge (which makes no sense to me as the 2.7 numbers are identical). Thing is, as I indicated above, I ordered on January 7th and was told it would be built March 28th so I extended my lease on my MKC that was set to expire on February 22nd. I extended it two months but I'm told I can just not make the final payment that's due on March 22nd and take delivery at that time. Still, it's frustrating that they tell you one thing and now I'm waiting two weeks for my current lease to play out. Oh well. shoeguy
Hi Jeff . Congrats on your new ride arriving. Check with your dealer that it is in fact your car. As your previous e mail states you are set for a build week of March 28. I ordered mine on December 27 and have a build week of March 18. Waiting very impatiently . I've been dealing with my salesman for over 20 years so I kinda don't want to insult him as he's always been fantastic in his customer service. I ordered a Reserve in Magnetic with Slate interior and 21" wheels so it's kind of a unique combination that they likely wouldn't order for dealer stock. Frankly, I'm not surprised as I've ordered other Lincolns in the past where this has happened. If by chance there was some mix-up, I can always make the last payment on the MKC and keep it another month, so I'm not too concerned. walkabout
I had that same experience with the MKC although it felt (subjectively) like much less of a risk in the MKZ loaners I had. I was at the dealer over the weekend. Keep in mind that I live in sunny Los Angeles. They were about 50/50 split between the 2.0 and 2.7 and had a grand total of one AWD on the lot. Cosmos36
In the Pacific Northwest market (primarily Portland-Seattle), a recent search of dealer Nautilus inventories indicated 63% 2.7 engines, 37% 2.0 engines with AWD dominate at nearly 100%. The numbers are to be expected with the region's topography (effortless cruising over mountain passes in 6th gear with no downshifting) and weather (occasional valley snow commuting, weekend mountain sports access). As for 2.0 vs 2.7 performance & fuel mileage comparisons, Lincoln has confirmed that although the transmissions mated to both engines have the same number of gears, each engine has a unique tranny version with different gear ratios and "...other mechanical changes."
