Bill Boyd Posted April 18, 2016 Report Share Posted April 18, 2016 For those that are interested the ability to disengage the auto fold mirrors on my 2016 Lincoln MKX has been repaired. The dealership called and made a software change that brings up the disengaging of auto fold mirror function. This has taken many months of calls to Lincoln Canada and it has finally been fixed. Now there are still 3 other functions to be fixed. 1. Changing speedometer to digital readout. 2. neutral tow function 3. The ability of horn to beep after pushing lock on key fob twice. Why in the world would you want the horn to beep when you lock the doors if there is anything that screams cheap car is that, well except the aftermarket ones that go off when there is some wind. Do you not have to small beep, not horn, currently? I hate the my horn goes off when I walk away with a key when car is running, it awful. What I hope instead is that if I walk away from the car it auto locks. Since it knows when I approach it and it lights up, I can't understand why it cannot do the opposite. The stupid touch sensitive buttons take to long. And getting my fob out of my packet and pressing the button is just to much work form me...must be the generation Y thing. This digital speedometer thing must be huge, i just don't get it but to each is own. Are all these problems related to Lincoln buyers being old ie. i can't see the numbers on my speedometer or I can't hear the beep when locking the door? akirby Posted April 18, 2016 Report Share Posted April 18, 2016 I much prefer the chirp over the horn honk. You can also tell by the folded mirrors that it locked unless you have that turned off. I think they programmed in a purposeful delay on the touch lock - the one on my 2013 Fusion is much faster and also much more likely to be hit twice or hit accidentally. I like the delay personally. I'm guessing your car was an early build without Sync 3 as both of these function work on mine (build in Feb 16). As for the other 2, not loosing any sleep over it... Having the horn beep when they left the car should have alerted them that the car was running, but maybe their hearing did not allow them to notice the horn. Sad story, but the logical reason for the honk. Yes sad story, there are ones with a regular start key where people somehow forgot to turn of their car. I still think its an awful way of doing it, normal beep one you hear when you lock the doors, not the horn, would suffice. This must be new because my 2013 ran for 2:30 hours while I was at a show (I park by a big fan that totally drown the engine noise).
