  1. Just had my "chirpper" replaced. Service manager said they had never done one before and took an extra day to be sure they had correct instructions and how to do it and more importantly, where the heck was it. Seems it is located driver side in the general area (but not in!) wheel well. So I am not sure the door leak sited issue is related to the chirpper not working, but maybe rain. Mine just died one day. Cannot say for sure it was rain induced or not ... not too much rain in Southern California. For the door leak issue though when I had a chance to talk to the door expert, he pointed out that the doors have a piece of black plastic along the window top to bottom it travels next to the window and where it meets the top of the door might not seal well. When we looked at MKXs on the lot, about 50% looked like they were sealed well but others you could tell were not under the weather stripping (if not tall enough, when you press on a top corner it travels more than you would expect) water gets in and the way he described the layout of the door basically channels the water if it gets in to the bottom of the door as pointed out. Seems he knew much about water in the door. Might be part of door water issue but not sure about shorting the chirpper.

    Audio Off

Just had this happen for the first time since I had my 2016(March) MKX BL. Turn on engine and Audio Off, cannot turn it on. No USB connections, no Android auto or anything else. Was leaving work and no WiFi setup for any updates possible. Not like Sirius updates that splash the screen it is updating. Tried Navigation lady and she was talking okay. The Revel demo could be played through the speakers just fine (could not control volume). No calls could be made with paired phone since no volume to hear. But no matter whether pushed the console volume/power button or the screen power, nothing. Turned off, let it sit for 15 minutes came back, nothing. Drove home, quiet ride, no audio but left nav lady on so someone would talk to me! Shut down, ate dinner, came out and still nothing. This morning, of course it works again. Anyone ever come up with a good reason?
  3. My 2016 MKX has what I would best describe looks like someone dumped a bucket of soap water on the windshield and it dried. It appeared after a routine maintenance from the dealer (scheduled oil) and nothing seems to be able to clean. It gets a bit better when they tried to clean but you still see the faint streaks top to bottom. Dealer has tried twice and now scheduling a warranty replacement, that is the good part about how I like my dealer. Has anyone heard of such a thing with the windshield? I know the windshield is suppose to have some noise acoustic sound dampening characteristics but not sure how that is accomplished on this windshield and could/might contribute!?
  4. Took my MKX in for scheduled service, mentioned speakers making load buzzing noise a couple of days earlier whether radio on or off that even a reset did not get rid of it but after walking away from it for an hour it stopped. Also lost sync with my phone a couple of times. So reprogrammed DSP and loaded the LATEST SYNC update that was just released!!! Only when I picked it up it was v1.1, not v2.0 and not v1.0 that was originally delivered (Feb'16 build). I cannot tell yet what is different and cannot find any place that describes what might have changed or "bugs" that may have been fixed. If anyone knows or where to find info it would be appreciated. I really was hoping it had Android autoplay but does not look like the pictures link in this thread.
  5. We I first got my MKX I too felt like the lady was yelling at me for Navigation, especially the initial warning. When I took it in for first service they applied a DSP module reprogramming, all better. She now speaks in a normal calm voice. All the other strange items disappear and for months, since June, no issues. I am not an expert here and just passing on as my experience. I do look forward to the next Sync3 update.
  6. also had the lady talk loud to me and had other issue of the speakers occasionally on start going loud static from one speaker to the next and could not control. Had the dealer look at. dealer kept an extra day to research and found the issue was a needed update that the DSP module needed reprogramming. For weeks now no issue. I also noticed the lady does not speak in a loud voice anymore when navigation starts reminding me this and that. The lady now follows the volume control set. Is the DSP reprogramming update the true fix or not, I am not the expert but just reporting cause and affect. Another side affect of the DSP update is that I notice slight sound delays that I do not remember before hand, especially when first starting. Also looking forward to Sync3 update after seeing some early pictures on the ford forum. It may be the update will also include the DSP update, but that would be just a guess on my part. Me: MKX BL 2.7, Revel Ultima, "born" Feb'16
  7. http://lincolnmkxforum.com/topic/1374-front-seat-cooling/?do=findComment&comment=5133 Nice explanation of how the seats work. If you can go to link in post 3 there are 3 good pictures or see post 10 which was a nice repost of the link with one of the pictures.
  8. Had my BL MKX since March 9. 2 times since I had it when turning the car on, the speakers have gone in to a full volume mode and "bizarre" sounds sequence from different speakers at a time. The only way to stop it was to turn the car off. Took it in to the dealer and no error code but the tech asked to keep it another day so they could research it better. Cutting to the end, the tech did find a write up that sounded extremely similar. They applied the DSP module patch referenced and time will ultimately tell if it is the long term fix. I read the posts and agree that in my past experience I too am not always impressed with the how intermittent problems are not looked at well ("we have to see it happening or we cannot fix it"). In this case, I am extremely impressed with my Lincoln dealer's handling a problem they did not see but took the time and effort to research and fix.
  9. Placed my BL MKX order on 12/14, got my VIN on 1/15 (one more week than "typical" 3 weeks probably due to holiday), was provided a build date week of 2/15 via picture of the printout acknowledgement from dealer. Then guessing 2 to 4 weeks for delivery (CA). Originally was told 8 to 9 weeks but after the 1st of the year, updated to now closer to 10 to 12 weeks. Your 12 weeks quoted is looking close now to my expectations. If you placed yours on 20th of December then hopefully dealer can provide VIN next week!?
