2017 lincoln mkx reserve

Hello everyone! Getting ready to test drive a fully loaded mkx reserve with just under 24k miles! Waiting for it to arrive in ohio from Georgia! Anyways just would like to hear how you all like this vehicle!

Hello and Welcome
I don't quite fit into your category but I'll offer my opinion and observations.

I have a 2010 MKX. I bought it 2.5yrs ago with 130K miles on it. I was looking for a beater to help move crap as we changed homes in retirement.
The car now has 150K miles on it. I originally thought I would keep whatever car I found for a year and dump it. I'm well beyond the year and have really enjoyed this vehicle. 
The paint has held up well, the leather is still in good condition, everything is working. I can still take friends out to dinner in the MKX with no embarrassment due to its' age

The car has a 6, I believe they now put a Turbo 4 in it, and the car has plenty of power when fully loaded and does the 2hr run back and forth between homes with comfort and ease.
Gas mileage (19-20) could be better but I usually cruise at 80 and most trips have been loaded, neither helps to increase MPG.
I hated the Sync 1 System, and I installed a Pioneer front end with AA and Carplay, but the new software should be well beyond that and my kid seems to have no issues in his Ford Focus ST.
I usually have a preference for Lexus and currently have a '20 RC-F and '19 ES-350 but this MKX comes awfully close to the same quality and comfort.

I just recently picked up a 2017 MKX Black Label, also fully loaded. I was coming from an older MKZ, but wanted something with a bit more comfort and cargo space. Luckily, the MKX has all that in spades!

 

Really the only thing I don't like about the car is the gas milage. I've only had a few months now, but i'm only averaging 18-20MPG. Honestly, not too big of a deal unless gas prices start to creep back up to 2008 prices, but also I came from a MKZ Hybrid getting almost double that, so its a bigger change for me. I could probably push it up 2-3+MPG, if my foot wasn't so heavy with that 2.7 twin turbo power ?. Once they release a Hybrid Nautilus, that'll probably be my next after this one.

 

So far I've been very happy with the drive comfort and overall quality and feel of everything. I think the car is beautiful and elegant both inside and out. I also checked out the Lexus RX, but was not a fan of the harsh lines and thought the interior was way too complex and boxy. Plus, its nice driving a car that not everyone else is driving. These cars are diamonds in the rough, and definitely the best luxury value for the money especially used/CPO. This is my third CPO Lincoln, and have been happy with the quality of their products for years now.

We had a 2010 Mkx Premiere loaded and love the ride, spacious interior, and comfort.  We traded it in for a 2017 Reserve, big difference in room, (smaller interior), ride was not as nice, other than that, we like the Lincoln Mkx, just wish we had the 2010 back ?

Really?  We went from a 2008 edge to a 2016 MKX and I don’t recall the mkx being smaller.

I think the 2016+ cars just have a plusher, more rounded interior, which can equate to feeling smaller. Ive been in a lot of Edges, Fusions, MKZs... etc over the last 10+ years, and I dont think my X is any smaller than any of those.

I have a 2009 and regularly drive late model loaners. My opinion is the front seat compartment "feels" smaller due to the center consul and intrusion of the door design. I'm certain it was designed to give the feel of being compartmentized, but I prefer more "looseness". 

 

The ride in new Lincolns is more responsive and has more road feel. Not in a bad way, but different. 

 

I definitely don't like using the screen in place of physical knobs and switches however. And I rarely use voice commands. Can't remember the syntax most of the time. Too much to memorize.

Yeah, the newer cars everything wraps around you rather than being open. Kinda reminds me of the Mark VIIIs where the doors and console wrapped together. My 07 MKZ had that "flat" console look that reminded me of a F150 (not necessarily in a bad way), that was the trend in Ford/Lincolns of that era. Though, I drive for comfort so I think I prefer the plushiness and the feeling of being "compartmentalized" in a comfy cockpit over the wide open space of something like what you would find in a truck. 

 

I agree 100% about the screen. I love technology and screens have their place today, but not at the expense of the normal physical buttons for every day tasks. And voice commands suck, especially when mixed in with Siri or other assistants vs built in. I remember I was using CarPlay, and I tried to use the voice command to turn off the heated steering wheel. It didn't work, said something about how it can't control the car. I had to go to the touch screen, which took 3 or 4 presses from where I was, to turn it off. Maybe there is a way to do it, but I haven't had the patience to try to figure it out.
