Just took the car out for an errand, and no Wi-Fi Notification at all. So turning off the Auto Check for Updates solved the problem, and now, it is staying with my USB as a music source, so all is well after a frustarting 2 days with that update.

Also, I had sent a 2nd email to the Service Manager at my Lincoln Dealer about 8:30 last night after I had solved the issue. At 7:15 this morning he replied and was very happy to know about this, since many times they do these updates for customers and now he knows what to do about it. Very good service at this Lincoln Only Dealer.

I went back to my WiFi connection, totally removed my home WiFi (forget), and re-established the connection.  Then I went to the system automatic update section and launched a manual scan for updates, but it just sits there spinning, saying that it's scanning, for minutes... longer than I wanted to wait for it..  So I cancelled, ran some errands, and no more popup, even though I still had WiFi and automatic updates enabled.

Songs start in the 50's through modern music. Very short songs in the 50's and 60's though, so 32gb is likely correct, since I copied songs from my computer several years ago to the USB, I don't really remember the size.

?????

I think the 32gb was referring to the Ford requirement that the usb drive for doing the sync 3 3.0 update was at least 32 gb.

Normally you would think that going from 2.3 to 3.0 would be a big change. I don't understand why they did not call this one 2.4 and then call it 3.0 when waze and alexa and all those CES demos actually work.

I thought Waze was currently working on Sync 3 systems (with vs 3 update). Reason they are not updating map software, isn't it?

Have you d/l Waze, plugged in via USB and see a Waze icon on screen?

Does not work yet. Some people on other forums think it will with a future waze ios app update.

Sync 3 enables it via applink but the Waze app itself has to be modified to work with applink and that’s expected within a couple of months.

Dealer.

Did you (or anybody) get it yet?

After I posted, I googled "Lincoln Navigation Update" and use this link: https://owner.lincoln.com/how-tos/sync-technology/mylincoln-touch/navigation/updating-your-navigation-system-map.html

and got your answer:

Thank you for your interest in a navigation update for your SYNC 3 system.

Please contact your dealer to purchase an update today

Anyone actually purchased a copy yet?

I think a couple guys did here: https://www.f150foru...x5/#post5707081

As for updating to 3.0, I started the process and when I returned the car was nor running...

I was quite sure it did not updated but when I restarted it I saw the "steering wheel" on the screen, even the report back upload work this time.

This is a pretty solid update for both of our MKX's, apart from a few glitches. Apple CarPlay is much quicker to start and much more responsive. I also like (not sure if it did this before) how it slows down the fans in the car when using Siri so she can hear you better. Since we prefer CarPlay over SYNC's native functions including audio, we absolutely love this update. Only one of our MKX's were getting the Wi-Fi notification, which is odd. I believe it's stopped now too.

I've found the system to feel a lot more polished now as well.

I am wondering if we got the same 3.0 update as you??? My carplay does not seem any quicker than before or more responsive but I never had any complaints on that. It takes 5-10 seconds from car start to go to carplay and it has always been responsive for me.

Mine definitely does not slow down the fans in the car when using siri. The wifi notifications seems to be random; I still get it sometimes.
