Key Battery Low

Has anyone seen this in the left display area:

Key

Battery low

Replace soon

This message happened to all 3 key fobs within a matter of a few days. Either Lincoln has synchronized key fob battery discharge or there is something odd going on with the MKX. I haven't had time to take it in to ask about it but will do so in a few weeks when it goes in for the next service.

All three FOBs are acting normally. All of the normal responses occur as you approach the vehicle. It unlocks and starts all in the normal way. The odd part is all 3 happening at the same time. I asked here because it will be a few weeks before it goes in for service and I don't have the free time to check before then.

This is a constant issue.  Have a 2016 with 12k and replaced the batteries twice and the last (3rd) time the dealer supposedly reprogrammed something and replaced the batteries.  That lasted 4 months then the message started again.  Took the batteries out rubbed them and problem solved (for at least the last 4 days).  Think this will be an ongoing issue.

How close to the vehicle are you storing the fob when you're not driving the vehicle?

I'm guessing the fob is a transceiver since the little red light turns green to indicate a successful remote start.  As someone who rarely drives their MKX I have to wonder whether the fob has some sort of sleep mode if it's not used in a while to save battery life.
