Guergh, I hope you absolutely love your new vehicle. My 2016 has mostly been pretty great. I'm up for a new lease this summer, and will look at another.

I've driven a few vehicles with the 2.0 Sweet engine. Feels like a six in many ways. I've driven only one vehicle that had the stop/start feature - a three series. I'm sure they've perfected it since then but that was a horrible system.

I've had the hatch open itself numerous times. I've also noticed that there is a NHTSA complaint about the hatch. I don't believe it is the latch. I think the obstacle sensor that is there for safety reasons is ultimately sensitive and tends to false. Once, at work, University police called me to say they had found my car in the garage with the hatch open. A second time, I was grocery shopping and the store made an announcement and I ran out to my car. I found this nice elderly women standing guard - she had dispatched her husband to warm the store manager and was there to make sure nothing was stolen. Work around: if you apply a tiny bit of pressure (like with one finger) just as the hatch closes, all this ton foolery is at an end. There is a lot of quirky electronics in this vehicle.

Or, if you have an Android, just go into the maps submenu and delete data.

Length may be an issue? And nobody is going to come back with a "that's what she said.."? Sometimes, this forum is disappointing. I'll bet anything the engine choices were driven by the bean counters. For whatever the reason, it was probably most cost efficient to go with the 2.7T and 2.0. I think that is shortsighted, because Lincoln needs some engines that are exclusive. I still think the 2.7T is on par with ANY mass market engine on the planet (to be clear what I a saying, I'm saying it is superior to the best of BMW, Honda, and the other famed engine makes - its a jewel).

To me, NVH is not the issue. The cabin is quiet (I think most noise issues I've heard about have been related to tires), the engine is smooth as butter, and I don't hear any squeaks or rattles. I see quality of cabin materials as a much more central issue.

Mine closes smoothly but it is VERY sensitive about obstacles. If continually reopens itself, which gets real old.

Isn't weight also an issue for the v6? My guess is that this is simply an error on the epa website.

The EPA number for the 2.0 AWD are a bit hard to believe because they are way lower than the Ford 2.0. Given that the Ford and Lincoln 2.7T are rated identical, I'd say something is wrong.

Imagine if that engine was built by bmw or Audi instead of Ford. It would be universally seem as one of the best engines in the planet.

I'm sure the new ones will be heavily discounted soon. The MKX has had horrible resale value and wasn't exactly burning up the sales charts.

The epa on the 2019 2.7 awd (which most here would likely select) is 19/26. That's only a mile or two behind some turbo 4 engines, most of which require premium. Not bad.

That article is still a little Cryptic. It notes that the 2 mpg improvement was for the fwd. Doesn't have a report for the awd. I doubt the ptu change had much effect but the current awd mpg with the glorious 2.7t is 17/24. 19/26 would be pretty nice.

I'm glad you've had a good experience. Many owners would not feel as positively. Lincolns customer support had been an absolute joke for me.

A mesh system is basically a set of routers that relay your system all over your house. It wipes out blank spots and the network name is the same throughout the house. For me, I have a average size property (for LA) with 9,000 square feet. I have the MKX in my garage, and ring floodlights all around, as well as an office in my back building. I have a strong signal everywhere because I have a google mesh device on each side of the house. I'm not sure which mesh system is best but the Google system was childsplay to setup and it communicates well with my MKX. I'm guessing that other car companies, like Lincoln/Ford are assuming your vehicle can communicate with the home network. 5g may make that obsolete down the road though. Sync 4 or whatever Ford calls their next redo of the infotainment will like have a constant contact via 5G. But, for now, a $200 mesh system makes sure your MKX can easily fetch downloads in your driveway and garage.

The LEDs are not adaptive as far as I can tell. Nobody on this forum who actually owns those headlights has seen an effect. I called to complain to Lincoln and they admitted as much on the phone. The lights don't swivel and there is no is turning of light elements on and off within the cluster. These are fixed headlights. What Lincoln means by "adaptive" in their advertisements is beyond me. Lincoln's own consumer rep drew the exact same conclusion. On some forums, I've seen the argument that adaptive LEDs are illegal in the states. That's also incorrect. What is illegal is lights that produce variable patterns to enhance seeing around specific objects. The lights are great anyway and I don't feel to bad about the adaptive thing. I agree that the 360 is very low resolution. That goofy box around the car precludes utility in most situations. Honestly, its a pretty worthless feature. The lack of a reverse tilt-down is annoying and makes parking closer to the curb a challenge. The work around is to just sent one of the memory positions (like # 3) to a setting with the windows tilted down. My 2016 has been a wonderful vehicle but those issues are mild annoyances.

I installed a Google mesh system, which had been great. Would highly recommend it, especially for issues like this.

There is also another threat to Nautilus process that is noteworthy - the disparity between the MKX and Edge pricing is gotten huge. The Edge can now be had with the 2.7t and all the gizmos for about $12,000 less than an mkx reserve (that's around LA per carsdirect). The value equation isn't really there anymore, tariffs or not.

I had decided to forgoe the 2.0 to 3.0 because the consensus here was that it did not add much. Last night when I pulled in though, the car updated itself. Surprising, because I always thought the wifi update was a mytical animal, like big foot or lochness. I really do enjoy Sync. Still think it is a fantastic system.
