Nautilus Dealer Trade

Went to my local dealer early this week to see if they could find me a Blue Diamond Reserve AWD V/6 with Slate Interior, pretty much loaded with Tech Pkg, Dr Asst Pkg, 22 way seats, Cago Pkg, 21" wheels, Roof rails, Cargo cover.  Sales Manager found only 1 car in the whole country that had exactly those options, but it is at a Dealer in Colorado.  The Sales Manager there said no to making a dealer trade, so my Sales Manager went to the owner of my Lincoln Dealer to complain, and it turns out he knows the owner of the Colorado dealership, made a call, and got the trade done.  So, it should arrive here (Illinois) sometime next week.  I was afraid if I ordered one, it might not get here until June!

Congratulations on being able to get the car you want in a very reasonable time frame.  You are 100% correct in assuming would be June otherwise. I have the same colour combo on order since Dec 28 and have a build date of the week of March 18. Looking forward to the new wheels just as the snow is clearing. There are a few in my area with this color combo yet all have the trailer tow package and that is the number 1 option that is a complete waste of money for me.

Today I got a call around 3 pm that the Nautilus had arrived and I could pick it up this afternoon.  I am glad I selected the Slate interior, looks great.  Took a while to set up the dash the way I wanted and to go through the many set up options.  It was dark by the time I got it home and one thing I noticed was that when turning with the lights on, it seemed to light up more in the direction of your turn than my MKX.  I got new plates, since the ones I had were expiring 4/1, so transferring those would actually not be cheaper than getting the new plates.  But they start with BF before the numbers, so I'm sure many will think of words for that!!

The 2019 Nautilus has Cornering Lamps and they work well.  So it did light up much more than your MKX.  Anytime you turn the steering wheel and the headlamps are on, the cornering lamps illuminate and light up the area.  They used to be on luxury vehicles years ago and they were discontinued for some reason.  I really like them , you can see what is to the side in the direction you are turning.

I wish there were more options for dash setup. I would put just the speedo in the middle, but I don't like that it has no numbers on the outside like you find with the speedo/tach combo, and the dash doesn't give any particularly good options for using the two open spaces on each side of the center speedo. I alternate between showing Trip 1 and the graphic showing where wheel power distribution. The latter looks cool, though it doesn't provide any particularly good info -- I use it sometimes instead of the trip info because there's no way of not showing trip mpg (see dash setup options above) and, well, in S mode with the 2.7's 380 ft-lb torque one gets just so darned tempted to stomp on that accelerator! Honestly, though, on non-congested highway driving I can get 28mpg easy in D mode driving, well, easy. In more normal (for me) S mode driving I haven't gotten above the mid-teens, though I'm still in the break-in period. I'm fine with the gas mileage, as I knew I wasn't buying a Toyota Corolla, but I wish I could replace it in Trip 1 with other stats I care about more. Nag!

I am also not a fan of the dark gray coating on the 21" wheels, which Lincoln for some odd reason call "Ultra Shiny".

I already placed an order to get the exact factory wheel in chrome from Detroit Wheel and Tire.  I guess they have had several orders, since they said I would be on backorder and it could take 6+ weeks to get a set.

Hey Elijahbird. I have never seen the slate interior up close and personal.  Waiting for mine to be built week of March 18.  Any chance you can take a good pic ?  Is there much difference with the different tones in grey to set off the interior?  Are the seats lighter or darker of the shades.  When I ordered mine I just went off a grainy picture from the web site.  Thx. Shoe.

The Slate on the doors just has a minimally darker shade just below the windows, but the rest of the door color is all the same, v/s my Cappuccino interior where the armrests were a different color.  I can take some shots if you can give me an email to send them to you.  I have never figured out how to add a photo on here!

I have a Wedgewood Blue 79 Mark V with only 17,800 miles on it that of course has the cornering lights on the side, great idea back then.

Go Gallery at the top, then the red Add Image button. I'd like to see a shot of that Mark V!

That picture reminds me of when I was lusting for a Town car in Navy Blue, just could not bring myself to pulling the trigger on it, I ended up with a Grand Marquis Brougham in a very similar Blue with a Navy Vinyl coach roof with Navy Velour tufted seats, completely loaded. I remember my father at the time just looking at it and knowing that it was beautiful.

If anyone is looking, Landmark Lincoln in Englewood, Co has about 56 Nautilus either in stock or dealer ordered.  That is where my dealer found mine.  It is a Lincoln only dealer as well.  May be worth checking out.

80% of the Nautilus inventory at Landmark are AWD and all are 2.7 engines...no flatlander vehicles.
