Cosmos36 Posted April 25, 2018 Report Share Posted April 25, 2018 A few days ago I received a slick tri-folding brochure in the mail from Lincoln promoting Spring sales of 2018 MKX, MKC, and MKS models. The brochure featured large individual photos of the three models stacked one above the other and identified in order as MKX, MKC, or MKS. BEAUTIFUL. The problem? The 1st and 2nd photos were both identical MKC photographs but identified consecutively as MKX & MKC vehicles. Granted, excepting vehicle dimensions, slight differences in grill/fascia appearance, and the MKC's clamshell hatch, MKX & MKC vehicles are difficult to distinguish. But, to confuse photos of the two in an official manufacturer's promotional publication is disturbing, if not somewhat humorous. elijahbird7 Posted April 25, 2018 Report Share Posted April 25, 2018 I received a postcard yesterday from Lincoln asking me to complete a "Survey" about my recent Roadside Assistance experience. Well, I have never ever used Roadside Assistance. So, I emailed them asking why my name was associated with this survey and if my previous MKX was involved. I told them I traded in my 2014 MKX for my 2016 MKX over two years ago. Their reply was "sorry, due to your recent change of automoble." "Recent" my ass! Cosmos36 Posted April 25, 2018 Author Report Share Posted April 25, 2018 (edited) Well Elijah, perhaps the mailer of your survey AND the compiler of my brochure are trapped in distant time warps...what can we expect when the speed of light (and possibly the U.S. Postal Service) are both such inefficient means of communication. The brochure photograph of a 2018 MKZ sedan was correctly labeled. In my OP, I fell right into the Lincoln model misnomer trap that currently afflicts the brand. Thankfully, Lincoln is moving swiftly to correct the issue. Unfortunately, the ~ 7" X 12" tri-folding brochure went out with other recyclables yesterday morning. While the brochure was labeled with a local Ford-Lincoln dealer's name-address (1 of 2 in PDX), I wonder if the origin is local (dealer) or national (Lincoln). An email to the dealer noting the embarrassing photo labeling error elicited only a robo acknowledgement. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
