UPDATE with more info Oct 4,2018 My car was hard starting and the Nav screen said it was shutting down things to conserve battery. I started the car and drove it to the dealer. Said battery was bad and replaced it and drove home and drove it on the 5th, 6th. Oct 7 2018 I look at the new updated MyLincoln App and I have a msg from car saying battery is low. (Oct 7 1:15AM) Battery was at 4 volts. Called Lincoln Roadside and verified and jump started car. Being Sunday I decided to keep the car and not have it towed to dealer and place on a trickle charge after driving it around about 30 minutes. Battery showed 12 plus volts. Oct 8 2018 Drove to Lincoln dealer and told him story above. Oct 9 2018 5PM Service Provider called and said that couldn't find any issues over night and put battery on charger and to come pick it up at noon on Oct 10. The only thing that has changed it I updated the SYNC3 to version 3.0 a few weeks earlier. Not sure which build and will turn off my wifi connection when I pickup car. Could that be the drain while parked in my garage? Thanks

I have a 2016 MKX and have not had any problems. Oct 4,2018 My car was hard starting and the Nav screen said it was shutting down things to conserve battery. My 2016 MKX battery has drain on it from some component onboard. On Oct 4th my MKX sounded funny and showed on the Nav screen that it was shutting down things to conserve power. Got it jump stated and to the dealer who replaced the battery. OK now it is Sunday 3AM and I get a health message from the car that the battery is extremely low. It was down to 4 volts and had to jump start and now have it on the charger. Will take it to the dealer 7AM in the morning. Nothing is left on and the only thing I did about a month ago was update my sync3 to version 3. I have read many forums and it seems some modules are not shutting down. Any help would be appreciated if you know anything similar about this. Thanks Iggyaz

2.2 version

Since installing the only thing I have noticed is that on startup the map seems to take longer installing. I get the buffering icon for about 5-10 seconds before I see the map and road. It used to be a few seconds the most. Do you get that?
-
Thanks for your update mfam16. I decided to go for it and install what I had. After the full install I ended up with version 2.2.16280 Everything is working great so far. Did notice a change in the screen background color and décor. Not sure but it just may be my imagination. It was now a brownish background. I will have to check and see if that can be changed.

I might as well start this threat as I have recently heard that Lincoln will release its version of the Sync3 firmware update. Many Ford have gotten it already but for some reason Lincoln is holding off and will release it sometime this month (Jan 2017) They have 2 version 1 for non-Navigational systems and 1 for Navigational systems. I have seen placed you can download this file but I'm waiting for Lincoln to install for me or maybe my modem and wifi will update while my MKX sits in the garage. Can anyone explain how this would happen? I'm guessing the MKX will do a random check on its own and use the wifi connection I have setup in my MKX? I want to paste a list of the update information but unable to paste it into my message.

I also heard the 2016 MKX Sync3 with get an update from V1 to Version 2.2 shortly. (This month Jan 2017)

Cosmos36 So why don't you test on your car to see if you have the same leak. AC - ON Recirculate - ON Fan - ON Accurate onto a highway at partial or full throttle and tell us what you smell? Being in a cool climate is irrelevant to our concern.
-
During my recent recall for Recalibration of Throttle Body I asked about the exhaust smell. They gave the typical answer that they have not heard anything and I asked them to keep that in my cars file as an open item. I have read the letter one previously posted here which is yes we have a problem with exhaust gasses in the car but don't worry about it as it won't kill you. LOL As other have said if I bought a high quality and costly car of this caliber I would expect a better solution. So anyone buying a Ford or Lincoln expect exhaust gasses to enter your cabin when you accelerate with recirculate air on. Maybe one day they may tell us why it is happening and from what?
-
Update after dealer checked. Acknowledged they drove it and did smell the exhaust fumes.(rotten egg smell) but was unable to track down where it was leaking from to get into the air system. It happens in regular outside circulation mode. Will have to check and see if it happens while in recirculation mode. This needs to continue to be addressed as it is a major health risk even with the letter stating it is within government guide line limits. It still stinks up the car.
-
This is a 2016 Build 2 but I found someone else who has the exact same issue on his 2016 MKX. It only happens when I accelerate onto the highway entrance. Will keep you posted.
-
In my 2016 MKX it seems it pulls in exhaust fumes into the AC vents and you smell like the rotten egg smell. This only happens when entering the highway ramp where I accelerate up to speed. Has anyone had something similar? I do plan on mentioning it to my dealer on my next oil change service..

My 2016 Job#2 MKX the modem and Lincoln apps works flawlessly. I tested while my wife had it parked a few miles away while she was shopping. I also was able to see where the car was parked on the map which could be helpful if it was stolen and you wanted to see where it is located. GPS was very accurate and told my wife when she returned that I saw where in the parking lot she parked. About wifi updates. It seems check for updates at some interval but my last check was update as per Sync 3 screen say 1/19/16 and it's now 1/24/16. So it does it or checks when it wants to. I wouldn't worry. Let it do it's thing and if it doesn't after a month or so you can then check out why. Enjoy your MKX.

I have observed videos of the MKX with HID and the LED headlights. Just Google it and you will find many videos for the MKX headlights. It is a big difference.

All is well. The engine didn't blowup. It was after running at 75mph for the last 30 minutes prior. Yes I understand break-in at various speed , no towing etc. Thanks for caring.

I picked up my 2016 MKX with Sync 3 on Monday Jan 18th. I have taken a few trips locally as well as on the highway with a total of 450 miles on the odometer. Everything is working flawlessly and here are a few of my initial observations. 1. Sync 3 is worth waiting for and is super fast and works well with all voice commands. 2. Linking my Android was easy and my calls and text msg are now fun and effortless. 3. The 3.7 L V6 in my mind a great solid engine. It is quiet, stable and preforms well at all speeds. I drove highway speeds here in AZ at 75 mph and took it up to 105 mph and still had plenty to go faster but I thought I'd better now for now. 4. Adaptive HID is great and gives out much more light than compared to the All LED headlights. 5. The 20" rims and tires makes the car look mean with their wide stance and are quiet running and grip the road solidly> 6. My Ruby Red with clearcoat is a eye catcher and many people have come by and asked about the car. 7. The Reserve perforated leather seats are comfortable and the basic electric seats in the Reserve is great. 8. The electric steering took a day to get used to as it is different than the old rack and pinion power steering. Great at high speeds. 9. The fit and finish on my MKX is great as I have looked and looked and can't find anything out of place. 10. GPS, Radio, SAT Radio is easy to use with the new Sync 3 11.Gas mileage has been around 22-24 mpg but again I have driven both in the city as well as the open highway at 75mph and higher so I predict my next tank at moderate speeds will do better. 12. Oh the 6 speed transmission started learning over the first few days and is very smooth and responsive to my heavy foot. I have not tried Sport mode yet. 13. My MKX Job #2 has the menu items to turn on and off the automatic mirror traction if you want. 14. No digital speedometer except when in cruise control. 15. I have installed the Lincoln App on my Android phone and works well. I tested remote start from a distance and that will be worth it in the Arizona summer months when it reaches 110 degrees. lol Any questions just ask me. Thanks and now to facebook to add this. So now all I want to do is use it and enjoy my trips more.

I will check it again. I don't have the setting set to automatic volume control but to maintain same volume. That may be the reason I have no control. Thanks
-
I have tried turning the volume knob down during the GPS speaking and so far no change in level. Haven't seen anything within the GPS setting but will check again today. Thanks

I have had my 2016 MKX now for 3 days and have driven over 500 miles. I have used many GPS's and other techie stuff but I must say the I'm glad I waited for the Sync 3. The GPS Navigation is really quick and full featured. Changing routes when I don't take an exit is very quick and as accurate as the maps. The only thing I want to know is how to lower the volume of the GPS when its giving directions. Any ideas?

It looks like the YouTube video link I added in one of the earlier messages is no longer good. Here is how you can find it. Google " Ford's Sync 3 Hands On - Full Tutorial " Hope this helps you find it as I'm unable to add any web links here for some reason.
