  1. I'm 66 and needed a good quality car that was still sporty and classy at the same time. All the rest of the old farts around me have SUV's from Buicks, Cadillac's to only name a few. I wanted something unique that people would look and have to find out what is that. See I feel Buick and Caddy's you can pick out a block away. Even my youngest daughter thinks its really beautiful and said I could buy here one also. LOL Money had nothing to do with it as I'm able to buy almost any car I want and I'm still very glad I found the Lincoln MKX Reserve instead of the Ford Edge Titanium. No comparisons at all between those two. Enjoy your MKX ride brothers and sisters we are now one big happy family.
  2. FredLuke. "Car Wash Mode" Page 183 and 184 of the MKX owners manual. It seem a hidden subject in the owners manual but very important when using a drive thru a wash. Read the manual. See page 183 and 184 in your owners manual.
  3. What I have read... When the engine is running it will hold your car at that point so you don't have to have your foot on the brake pedal when you are in stop and go situations. Now the Car Wash Mode is something different. Entering the car wash you have your engine off. If you press the Neutral button once it show on your dash its in Nuetral. Hit Neutral button again it will be in Car Wash Mode. The neutral button will flash so the car will roll freely. Until you hit Park or Drive.
  4. With gas prices so slow you have to be really hard up needing to steal gas let a lone a drill with a pump attached. I was told by the dealer the way they build the Ford/Lincoln gas fill it is almost impossible to easily get any gas out. That is why they added a special funnel in the trunk if you ever have to fill with a plastic can.
  5. Yes they do sell them for the Ford and Lincoln capless tanks for $25. http://accessories.lincoln.com/exterior/fuel/locking-fuel-plug.html
  6. I saw the Fan Rims yesterday at my dealer. They look awesome! Sorry I didn't have any camera to take a picture of one. I plan go being back at the dealer on Monday and take pictures.

    Sync 3

Deleted by author because unable to find delete method any where.
  8. OK now that no one won the $900,000,000 and on Wednesday it turns into $1,300,000,000 does that change your plans? I would get a full blown 2017 Lincoln Continental and a cute female blonde to drive me around. My wife will do the same but a cute muscular male blonde. lol
  9. OK. Do you have a question or comment about it?
  10. Would you still buy an MKX if you won the Power Ball Lottery? It's up to $900,000,000 now.

    Sync 3

Google Auto.... I'm trying to grasp what it will do for Sync 3 owners? Being an old fart it just sounds like it will interface your Smartphone with Sync 3. Now with that said It says it will use Google Maps for travel. Instead of the imbedded maps already in the Sync 3? It talks about Skype so I guess you can connect with Skype and have a chat with someone instead of a phone call? Please enlighten us what you think it will do or change in everyday usage? I guess I have to upgrade my data plan soon.lol The nice thing is that even Sync 2 users will be able to upgrade also sometime in late 2016.
  12. I find it very interesting on how they make it sound that if you deal low you are starving their children. If you get a good deal say get Invoice price they still get any Ford Incentives plus if I read correctly that even at invoice price they make 3% At least it is information that other may see and understand how you can negotiate a fair deal. Does anyone else have anything to add? Thanks
  13. Can anyone give me some idea about Internet pricing. As I see it if I contact my dealer by email about a car online that eliminates going on the floor with a salesman. I thought by eliminating a floor salesman you get a better deal which includes Internet pricing. If a car had a MSRP prices of $47,600 And they only offering you $1,500 off of MSRP is that a deal or not? Now I found that the Internet price is $45,300 Minus and incentives say $ 1,500 My price should be $ 43,800 So back to the question. When does dealers use internet pricing? Must you ask for it? Thanks
  14. I have read that the front windshield molding being flush means it is installed properly and shouldn't have wind noise nor water leaks. That is what I read here. Some came with the molding not flush and caused a lot of wind noise. Earlier MKX's also had some type of water leak around that area also if the molding was found not flush. Not sure if this is an issue but plan to look closely at mine when It's ready for pickup this week.
  15. Update #4 1/4/15 Well my MKX arrived at the local rail yard here in Arizona. Called my dealer Salesman to tell him it arrived and what rail car it was on. LOL He really is impressed I knew and he didn't. Anyway I should have it by Thursday 1/7/15 after they do the dealer prep. I do plan on doing a test drive and complete walk around inspection for fit and finish. Doors flush and even, windshield molding flush with window and a few more things I learned here on the forum. Thanks all for your help. Can't wait
  16. No you can NOT turn off the noise cancellation system. It runs when the engine starts and shuts off when you shut the engine off.
  17. Windshield Bezel Frame So to verify what see in the pictures. One shows a large gap between the windshield and plastic and the other shows its flush with the window. I will have to check mine out when I take delivery next week. Thanks
  18. The funny part is these guys have hijacked my thread. Original title is Finding my MKX with Sync 3 LOL
  19. I have done a lot of searching on MSRP and advertised prices. It seems almost 100% of dealers are taking off only 5% from MSRP. This doesn't include any incentive that may be available. My MKX Reserve MSRP is $47,615 and I want at least $3,000 off that to get my price I want. I have no idea what the Invoice price is as of yet. My guess is its around $43,000 Your opinions?
  20. Eviltuna Many things have to be considered in any car purchase. 1. Are you trading n a car? 2 Are you using the dealer financing. 3. What time of the year you buying what year model? 4. What are the Ford incentives they get hat they don't tell you about the they pocket no matter what the final number is.. I have heard that the best way to start is try and find out the dealers invoice price and work a few hundred up or down from there. The dear still get those Ford incentives so they really don't lose. They just make us believe w are starving their family. LOL
  21. I guess that start schedule is nice to start for you during the winter cold. Here in Arizona it would be nice during the summer when it hit 110 degrees in the shade LOL. I guess it could be worth trying when the car gets here between Jan 3rd ad 9th. It's always great to learn new things from everyone. Thanks and have a safe a prosperous New year. Iggy in the cool part of Arizona
  22. Most of the latest incentives expire Jan 4, 2016. Has anyone seen or heard what the next wave of incentives may be after the present expire? Thanks
  23. Not to hijack the thread but staying on the subject of the embedded modem. I have heard that embedded modem used with a smart phone is only used for accessing the MKX computer and does a few tricks like remote start the engine and open or lock doors. Does it do anything else?
  24. Canada or in USA its the same sales people trying to make a buck. I was going to buy a 2016 MKX off the lot and they only took $500 off MSRP but they also discounted with incentives of $1,500 Now I didn't buy that care but waited and found one the dealer ordered for themselves which was also online at their website. It was what I wanted and I have put a small cash deposit on that car which is due in between Jan 3-9 2016 When it comes in we will then see what they want to discount the car off of the MSRP. Hopefully at least $500 but I expect to get $1,500 in incentives so that will reduse the MSRP by at least $2,000. Now I am not trading in any vehicle and I may even consider financing if they give me something extra off. Does this help you?
