elijahbird7
Today, I was checking the settings and found that I could change the background screen color from Gold to a Gray, so that looks better with my Slate interior. I never saw that option on my '16 MKX. I was also looking at all the settings for the dash guages, and unless I missed it, I guess you cannot have what I would want, which would be Speedometer, Tach, Tire Pressure and Trip 1 Mileage all showing up. Oh well.
shoeguy
Hey Elijahbird. How did you change the background settings. Sounds like a good idea for when I get mine as well. Thx
elijahbird7
If I remember right, you hit the "General" thing that looks like a gear, then slide across the options until you see "Display". I think there are 4 options there.
elijahbird7
Here is the correct way...select Settings, then slide the screen to the left, select Display, then Background to get the colors..
RRivera
Huh. I checked earlier today in my 2017 and didn't see the background option. Did see something about day or night mode, or something like that. But nothing referring to background color.
elijahbird7
My '16 MKX did not have it either, so I was quite surprised to find it. I did notice the Sync 3 software was above 3.0, I think it said version 3.3, so don't know if that has anything to do with that option. shoeguy
They should have the control for heated wheel on the steering wheel like the Cadillacs do. At a minimum voice control. It is a pain digging deep in the infotainment system for it . Gurgeh

I'm enjoying having my first non-loaner/rental heated steering wheel this winter, but I hate having to tap the home screen icon and then tap the small heated steering wheel icon while driving. I much prefer a physical button for this either on the steering wheel or on the center stack near the seat heater controls, neither of which require attention away from the road to use. walkabout
It was worse with earlier versions of sync, with no icon on the home screen. This is an example of how I think Ford phoned it in on the refresh. This was an annoyance that could have been easily fixed but they didn't bother. I don't use the heated wheel much (too warm out here) but I'd be mildly irritated if I lived in a folder climate. Fortunately, most of the other ergonomics in the cabin are first rate (imo). Fastfwd75
The steering is actually too good. I will usually turn it off after a short time because it becomes uncomfortably hot. So yeah taking my eyes off the road hunting for the screen button
