2017mkx0107 Posted May 24, 2018 Report Share Posted May 24, 2018 I have taken my car in for the 4th time for a rattling sound inside by passengers front side and middle console area. enigma-2 Posted May 25, 2018 Report Share Posted May 25, 2018 Have you checked the sound deadening panels UNDER the car (on the passengers side)? These panels are held on by fasteners that can work themselves lose and get lost; resulting in the panels vibrating against the underside of the car. On my MKX, I can take out the bottom on my lower center consul and allows access to the bottom, inside of the consul (about 5" between the bottom of the consul and the steel floor pan). Anything placed in there would rattle against the bare steel of the car's floor pan. (Don't know if this is possible on your car, just thinking out loud as they've looked everywhere else). It sounded like someone faintly playing the bongos and it was impossible to tell where it was coming from. It didn't coincide with driving over bumps. Mike DC Posted April 27, 2021 Report Share Posted April 27, 2021 My MKX has an annoying rattling coming from the drivers side lower dash or door. It only happens when driving in speeds above 45.
