LIVIO Posted July 17, 2015 Report Share Posted July 17, 2015 Hey everyone, I was speaking with my local Lincoln Dealer and they just received a nicely optioned 2016 MKX in Black yesterday and they should be receiving a 2016 MKX in White possibly today as the dealership website is showing that they have two in stock. I will drop in tomorrow to see them in person but you can see them online via Twin Hills Ford Lincoln in Richmond Hill, Ont. They also have five 2015 MKX's in White if anyone local is interested. Cosmos36 Posted July 17, 2015 Report Share Posted July 17, 2015 (edited) From what I've noted appearing at dealers throughout Oregon-Washington, all of the early MKX arrivals are either black or white Reserves, mostly with 3.7 engines with Ebony & Hazelnut interiors. Clement Tse Posted July 19, 2015 Report Share Posted July 19, 2015 Twin Hills seems to have 2 of the 3 2.7L EB MKX's that are available in Ontario; East Court being the other. White and Black definitely seems to be the colours available. Drove the 3.7 with Tech and Lux but no Drivers Assistance. Was hoping to try the 2.7L ; The 3.7 didn't feel any different from my current 2012 MKX so that didn't really help much; ride was quieter than my current vehicle although there was a little wind noise / whistiling from the front which was unusual. Had a little on my own vehicle as well though afterwards. The Revel Ultima Stereo was pretty awesome. Too bad it wasn't dark so I could test the Adaptive LED lights. Surround camera was pretty sweet, the button shifter will take a little getting used to. Looking for input about the 2.7 Engine though...the only input I've had has been from the dealer sales and Lincoln Rep and of course, they have been raving about it. Amazingly, one mag road test of the 2.7 in an Edge described it as rough & noisy. Those testers must have been from another solar system. One of the features that engineers & media observers alike noted in lab endurance and dyno testing was the quietness of the 2.7 due to the CGI block. During a F-150 drive event that I attended, the 2.7 engine was so quiet that I could detect no sound whatsoever as the 2.7 engined trucks passed within arms length and as they accelerated out of the lot. Clement Tse Posted July 22, 2015 Report Share Posted July 22, 2015 I drove the 2.7 MKX today briefly; sales person was with me and the highway was full of traffic so I really couldn't push it, but I did notice a little better pick up than my current '12MKX; seem to require less effort to get up to speed. Noise wasn't really that much of an issue and I expect it to feel better when I can push it after it's broken in. That being said, I didn't notice a huge difference compared to my current engine, but maybe that's just me. I'm pretty heavy footed; drive highway quite a bit at 130Km/hr+ so I'm thinking the 2.7 should be a better fit for me? Any thoughts? Loved that Revel Ultima Stereo again though! Cosmos36 Posted July 22, 2015 Report Share Posted July 22, 2015 I was born-raised in the Midwest (Chicago-northern Indiana) where a turbo engine wouldn't be of much benefit to a conservative driver. But, in my current locale with the Cascade mountains to the east, Coast Range to the west, and Siskiyou & Rockies within a days drive to the south & north, I would like the reserve offered by the 2.7 engine. Besides, whether needed or not, I would like the experience of having a uniquely engineered turbo under the hood...to nurture with DIY oil changes and clinic-clean engine bay maintenance.
