BAYLENSMAN Posted April 11, 2019 Report Share Posted April 11, 2019 So i see that the models with the THX sound systems had an available dash storage bin. I have that on my 07 Freestyle. Can I add that to a standard radio car? I have an 08 MKX base with SYNC 1 and sat radio but not THX.I have just a large pad in the center of the dash. enigma-2 Posted April 15, 2019 Report Share Posted April 15, 2019 I have a 2009 with THX, not certain as to exactly what your looking at. Technically the "dash" is the part of the floor that angles up at an 30°-40° angle. (The verticle part is termed the "firewall". The terms were carried over from wooden wagon and carriage days.) The part over the radio is the instrument panel. The part were the radio is located is part of the console. I've taken pix of my interior, can you identify the area you're thinking of? This is a pix of the large mid range on top of the instrument panel. (If this is what you were referring to, I doubt there's enough room to add any storage area of any usefulness.) This is the center of the consol with the radio (lower area is a storage compartment.) This is the center console storage area with two separate compartments.
