elijahbird7
I just went online to the Support site, and it lists the Sync3 2.2 upgrade available. I could download it to a flash drive, but I'd rather try the Wi-Fi route when I go out later and see if it will do anything. The site seems to indicate the download should have been available on Wi-Fi this week, and I did use the connection yesterday, and nothing happened. Maybe today it will??? mymkx2016
HI guys, I am not tech savvy. I have MKX select 2016. The version on Sync 3 is 1.0. I live around the chicagoland area. I called the dealer today and came to know that the hardware is out but the software is still pending for version 2.2 whereas on the Lincoln owner website the Sync 3 version 2.2 is available but when i tried to update it gave the error message and is not compatible with MKX 2016. Please someone can advice. If I am missing some information and somebody already have updated the Sync 3 to version 2,2 please let me know of the instruction link. And what part number to be upgraded. I will appreciate. Thank you. Q

walkabout
That's actually one of the error messages you get following a bad install. I got it, when I was not flowering instructions properly. For the above poster, that's probably not the issue but it could be all sorts of factors. Can you talk us through what you did?

I downloaded the zipped files from Lincoln owners website to my PC desktop. Then I extracted all the files and copied the files to the blank USB flash drive. Then I went to the car and inserted the flash drive to the usb port in the compartment and once i inserted the USB it showed me installing the download and after few minutes the message popup appeared. walkabout
I have never seen that third file. You should get rid of that before the install. I'd also surrey a clean flash drive.

NOTMY911
Could be the USB stick Make sure that it is format to FAT32 Try it on a USB 2 and if it does not work use a USB
vttk17a1
There is a nav and a no nav version for this update. The difference is the nav version has smaller files. Could be that this is causing the problem, though any number of other things may also be wrong. Service department time?
walkabout
I deleted .msa file and tried but still same problem. The point is that the msa file, which is a rare archive format, should not have been there to start. And, the error code you are getting is typical for a bad flash key. I got that same message at one point. I'd get a brand new flash key, make sure it is formatted directly, Ann start anew.
mymkx2016
The files copied to the USB flash drive were (1folder, 2 files): SyncMYRide folder autoinstall.lst file DONTINDX.MSA file Inside the SyncMyRide folder the files are: GB5T-14G386-AA.tar.gz GB5T-14G386-SB.tar.gz HB5T-14G386-TBB.tar.gz HN1T-14g381-LG.tar.gz HN1T-14g391-BC.tar.gz HN1T-14G423-BA.tar.gz Please let me know which file to delete The files which I downloaded from Lincoln owner website and inside the SyncMYRider folder have 6 files and the unofficial files found from date December 2016 on websites have 5 files (update 1 folder and update 2 folder). Why its the difference in the files and what files should be copied to the flash drive. I have Non-Nav Sync 3? From December 2016 unofficial version the files inside SyncMyRider folder: Update 1 Folder GB5T-14G386-SB.tar.gz HB5T-14G386-TBB.tar.gz HN1T-14g391-BC.tar.gz HN1T-14G423-BA.tar.gz Update 2 Folder HN1T-14g381-LG.tar.gz So the file not in the December 2016 unofficial folder missing GB5T-14G386-AA.tar.gz I dont know what this file for GB5T-14G386-AA.tar.gz? akirby
Are you on a PC or Mac? Go get a new usb 2.0 flash drive and format it to fat32, they try it again.
mfam16
For those who only show 1.0 in car but 2.2 online, try going into cars settings and disabling auto update and then turn it back on. Do this while connected to you home or portable WiFi. This should"force"the system to check for any available updates. I'm not totally sure this will work but it's worth a try. elijahbird7
I have tried that, and nothing changed. It still says last checked for updates 3/1/17. I linked it to my phone wi-fi hot spot 4 times today...still no updates indicated.

mymkx2016
Ok Guys...I have a success here and updated to Sync 3 Version 2.2. I used the same USB. I used the same downloaded original files from Lincoln owner website and split it like the same it was done previously with the unofficial files from December 2016. I copied 5 files to first USB and edited the autoinstall file to use 5 files instead of 6 files and skipped the file in the first part of usb install and save the autoinstall file. ; SYNC3 Consumer Upgrade - Release 2.2.6 - Only for NonNav/NonEU assemblies.
