VisionPilot
I found the xml file inside the syncmyride zip file, not the main directory. I noticed that mine had Android auto but not Carplay. Not that I care, but it's interesting. I left the zip on my c drive, in the download area, and unzipped the contents to the USB drive. So, there is no zip drive on the USB stick.
walkabout
When I unzipped the download from the lincoln site, it left two files on my usb. One was a .lst file, the script for the install. The other was a zip file itself, called syncmyride. That zip had a bunch of files in it. After the install,I found the xml file inside. Try going to the usb drive and clicking on syncmyride.
VisionPilot
On my USB, that is a folder, and not a zip file. Here's what it looks like. There are only a handful of files in that syncmyride folder. Edited January 20, 2017 by VisionPilot
walkabout
Sorry, it's a folder on mine and not a zip. I misspoke. Look inside the folder though. I think the xml will be there. It was for me.

It was for me. That was the first place I looked, when it wasn't in the root. No where to be found on the USB drive. Going to attempt the procedure again and see what happens. Of note, after the first attempt completed, and I restarted the car, the nav map wouldn't load in the home screen, nor could I switch to navigation from the touch button. After a second restart of the vehicle, it came back.
walkabout
That happened to me too. I don't see apple carplay anywhere. I'm an Android but anyway but I find that surprising.

VisionPilot
After doing the update, I appear to have some Android Auto configuration options, which I enabled. But for the life of me, I cannot see how to actually make use of this functionality? How do you get your phone apps to work in Sync 3?
walkabout
Go into the android auto options, and enable it on Sync 3. Install Android auto on your phone. Connect your phone to the usb port. Open up Android auto on your car, pair it with the car, and tell it to turn on automatically when you connect. From that point forward, whenever you plug the phone into the USB port, you'll be looking at googlemaps on your screen instead of android auto. BTW, I was never able to get that XML file to upload via the Lincoln website. However, I forced an update check this morning and now the site is showing me with the latest version. Thanks, just the info I needed. I just thought it would start working over BT, without a USB cable, and without a specific app on my phone. Just did the same update check, and voila, it shows the update that I installed! Coolio! Thanks! NOTMY911
Is it showing v1 on the owners.lincoln site? Quick way the owner's site to site update is to goto your vehicle. Goto settings, select auto update, select check for updates. (Note: you will need to be connected to home Wi-Fi) afterwards go back to owner's site and it should show your latest version 2.2 That work, thanks mfam16
Timmer
I contact the Concierge and he refers me to the Technical Concierge who transfer me to the Local Concierge that tell me that I have to call the "800 Sync 3 hot line.".. As you can guess, nothing resolve as he tell me that I should either "retry the update" or go to the dealership... I told him that neither of his solution was going to happened. Coincidently before I talked to the "800 we can fix everything guy", I was told to stay on the line to do a Satisfaction Survey... Well just like their suggestion, the line went dead. Given the incredible and complex technology in our MKX vehicles, I don't get too upset when a feature acts up. Most times things straighten themselves out upon restarting my MKX. But the often inept technical support and lack of customer service NotMy911 describes above really chaps my a**... I too have experienced this same ignorance, multiple phone transfers and frustrating run-around the few times I've called Lincoln Concierge for help. In sum, the poor support is unacceptable. There is simply no excuse for the overall lack of knowledge and training on the other end of the line, plus wasting everyone's precious time... Grrrrr... walkabout
I totally agree with you, Timmer. Well said.
akirby
I agree. If you're going to have such a concierge service, make sure the people have the necessary knowledge.
Eviltuna
Does anyone have a link for version 2.26? I don't see it on the Lincoln site.

NOTMY911
Does anyone have a link for version 2.26? I don't see it on the Lincoln site. I think that the unofficial versions 2.22 and 2.26 were beta and they were both roll-up into 2.2 (kind of go against the normal software ver nomenclature). punch-card
Try this, you will need to login to your lincoln owner site https://owner.lincoln.com/tools/account/how-tos/keep-your-sync-up-to-date.html

Simpson
I'm logged in to the Lincoln owners site and have my sync3 2016 selected, but the site says "Your SYNC is up-to-date!" And lists Sync3 v1.0. Does anyone know how to force the update?

I believe it was on the main page, scroll down below "your vehicle status" info, and there was a sync update section in the updates and offers area. I think you have to click the learn more link or something. It no longer appears on mine as it knows I have the latest version. This might get you there, I don't know, since mine is the current version --> https://owner.lincoln.com/tools/account/how-tos/keep-your-sync-up-to-date.html Edited January 21, 2017 by VisionPilot
Simpson
It must be a staggered release or something, this is what I see there.

Did you click the view all available updates link in the upper right corner of the second image? Does your car have wifi connectivity ?
