Thought the MKX was a Haldex-like system that is FWD most of the time and used an electric clutch to engage the rear drive when needed. What you were describing was more of a Subru type of drive.

I don't think the video was arguing in an inconsistent way.  I think the idea is that the programming is so aggressive that it is functionally like an Audi type of system.

RE: The XT5 - I had high hopes for it, but it didn't do well in the Consumer Reports evaluation (which was posted on their website yesterday).  The MKX, in contrast, had a higher road test score than any SUV outside the Q7.

Unthinking zombie that I am, I tend to do exactly what Consumer Reports tells me to do!

But, I do like the XT5 and see it as a viable alternative to the MKX.  It certainly has a nicer interior and it also gets better MPG.

Have you driven or sat in the xt5 yet? It's not comfortable and to get it where it doesn't feel like a mini van you need to drop 64k but the seats are still bad for platinum edition.

You better off getting a slightly used escalade for that price tag.

IMO the mkx reserve loaded with out the 22 way adjustable seats is worlds better then platinum xt5

I like it because smoother ride, but I have less of a tenancy to accelerate with greater force thereby give a 'little bit' better gas mileage.

With sport model I seem to find myself in a habit of taking off from a stop with more pedal.

I noticed the comfort setting. Is that how you like your X?
