Back to the grill comments, I don't like the new grill design, no matter which model LIncoln it adorns, neither the shape of it nor the design of the grill openings or "teeth." The shape is too generic, no character, the openings just don't look luxurious. In general, most car makers have now decided that every model in their lineup has to look like every model in their lineup, just miniaturized. Look at every model of BMW or Audi, so every model gets the identical grill. It used to be that each model had an individualized design as well as a real name as opposed to a letter or number designation. Everyone knows the name, Lincoln Continental, virtually no one outside of Lincoln owners can identify an MKX from an MKC from an MKZ from an MKT......

cosmos36, Our MKX is called Chroma Quartz Crystal Silver, I think, though I don't see any of the silver when looking at it. The color changes depending on light and angle, from sort of a tannish brown, to a mauvish, purplish shade, to a charcoal color; never the same from different views. It's a Black Label model that happened to be fully loaded with just about every option that we bought last month with about 5900 miles on it from a dealer in Chicago. It will replace our Buick Enclave as my wife's car. In the limited amount of time I've driven it, including an 800 mile trip, right after we got the car, I'm impressed with it, even though some of the "nanny" features like the vibrating steering wheel, lane change avoidance feature drives me crazy and is turned off anytime I get behind the wheel. The other minor annoyance is the touch screen surface seems to show and magnify every single fingerprint to the point of not being able to see some of the screen in certain light. I've put a packet of screen wipes in the console to wipe it off every couple of hours of driving. Love the massage seats which I put to great use during that 800 mile trip when I got stuck behind an accident for a couple of hours.

It's funny how individual tastes differ. I much prefer the "wings" grill to the new grill seen on other new Lincoln models. The shape of the grills seem to borrow heavily from the Jaguar XF, but the grill itself, when you get close, looks like a sheet of soda can openings after you've flipped back the tab. It would not deter me from buying an otherwise excellent car, but I like it just the way it is.

My son and my wife swapped cars this morning as she had a lot of supplies left in her old car which my son is now using. So, he goes out to start the car this morning and he can't get it started. He calls me, and I run him through all the steps of starting it figuring he was confused about stepping on the brake pedal etc. He can't get it started. My wife goes out and tries, and she can't get it to turn over and no signs of life. I was a couple of blocks away, came home, and found the car so dead that door locks wouldn't work, courtesy lights wouldn't light up, nothing. Fortunately when my son first went out, there was apparently enough power to unlock the door, so I was able to open the hood. Otherwise, how would you be able get to the battery without the hood release. I put the battery on a charger, and after about 30 minute I was able to start the car. I called and made a service appointment at my local dealer but they can't see it until next week. I drove the car all day long afterwards, and had no other problems. The car is a 2016 Black Label pretty much loaded with 7000 miles on it. I looked on the internet for any useful information, but only found one reference about a service bulletin that was related to the optional Revel sound system (which I have) on early build 2016 cars possibly draining the battery. There was an updated software solution. I checked the CARFAX service history and did not see this performed. Has anyone else had a similar experience, and what was the diagnosis?

It is always good to hear about a good experience with a dealer, it's the way it should be especially on a luxury brand, but often not the case. About a month ago, my son's Nissan Altima was in the shop again for the thousandth time, and I decided that my wife's pile of c**p Buick Enclave would make a lovely car for my son to beat up, and that I would buy her a replacement. She and my daughter are starting up a new business that will often require them to carry supplies, so although I would have liked to get a sedan, my wife wanted a smaller (than her Enclave) SUV. Not being a BMW nor Mercedes fan, I really liked the Jaguar F-Pace (I have 3 Jaguars at home and have thoroughly enjoyed my two XKRs), but I really wanted to buy a very low mileage CPO car so that someone else got to take the big depreciation hit. The Jaguar is just too new to have very many used ones available, so I started doing some research on other luxurious, mid-sized SUVs. When I saw the MKX and read about the Black Label Series, combined with its many features and beautiful interior, I started shopping for one. About two weeks ago for Mother's Day, we took delivery of a 2016 MKX CPO car that had about 5000 miles on it, and was pretty much flawless. It had an MSRP of over $67000, so it was well loaded. We bought it for about $46K and have thoroughly enjoyed it including an 800 mile trip a few days after we got it. We are still learning about the many features and accessories, and the massage seats really came in handy on the trip, especially when we were stuck behind a bad accident for an hour and a half. I am impressed with the ride quality, the power of the Eco boost engine, the luxury, the countless features (even if some of them like the vibrating steering wheel of the lane change avoidance system, drive me nuts), and the quietness of the cabin (so quiet, I've made the mistake several times of not realizing the car was running). Lincoln has come a long way with their new models, and I'm now a believer.

A week into owning our MKX. the vibration was driving me nuts, I had already planned on making an appointment with the dealership to see what the problem was. I couldn't drive down the street without it "buzzing" my hands. My wife (for whom we bought the car) never noticed, but I was ready to give the car back. On about the fifth day, I reasoned that maybe this is a warning, pulled out the owner's manual and looked it up. It was a very happy day once I pressed the button at the end of the turn signal stalk to disable it.

Does the rear bumper guard have a specific part number? Is it a black vinyl piece? Thanks

Have made the decision to get an MKX to replace my wife's Buick Enclave and have probably picked a specific car, a 2016 Black Label CPO with about 5000 miles on it. Just wanted to say hello and will probably have some questions along the way. Pictures will come when the car arrives. I'm very active on the Jaguar forum having both an X100 (2002) XKR convertible and an X150 (2010) coupe that has been modified somewhat. I also have several older sports car, some in various stages of restoration. Most fun of my old ones is a beautiful (just restored) 1972 De Tomaso Pantera and my favorite car of all time a 1968 Pontiac GTO, taken apart and about to be restored. Hopefully will have pictures soon.
