Interesting.....my neighbor has an mkc and just parked it for over 2 months in the same spot with out moving it an inch. They have kids. Even stranger they have been driving around in an edge with a dealership sticker in the window for the same time. Looks like im making a new friend today. Wonder if the door latch is an issue for them. You need to look at your seam line on the roof where the sail panel connects with the roof. They did a shoddy job at the factory with out wiping down and prepping the rail properly before painting. Check out my pictures in the other thread. You can see chunks of the sealer in my paint all over the sides of the roof. (remember though, a portion of my roof has been re-sprayed but its not shown in those pictures) Lincoln has the right idea but they need to fix these very simple issues before the vehicle leaves the factory. My issues are Its 2017, how can you not paint a car properly? How can you be rebuilding a brand with out proper quality control? They have taken so much human error out of the process with machines, how can the few humans left in the factory drop the ball this hard? Hopefully they can fix things rapidly before social media sinks them for good. Its a new age and IMO Ford cant afford to make the mistakes they are making.

If everything goes smoothly and I can order one from the factory and inspect it before purchasing yes. If I'm committed to buy before an inspection probably not. I'll end up spending 5k more and getting the new Jaguar F Pace prestige. MSRP for my build is a tad over $60k because of the 22inch upgraded rims. ($3500)

Hopefully. I've been very respectful of everyone during the process and have yet to blow up at anyone involved. Everyone from the dealership to the body shop and in between all get it. They all have cars and get where I'm coming from. I keep telling my wife that I just don't see them telling me these needed repairs are normal and I must accept the car being restored. Again, really hoping Lincoln steps up and does what's right. Looking forward to a beautiful new vehicle coming straight from the factory. (of course in Luxe this time around)

Still waiting for all the paperwork from Lincoln. At this point they have found nothing. The tri coat roofs at the dealership I purchased from has some issues down the rails with lines not being straight but nothing that looks like mine. I honestly think maccos and their $200 paint job would look better better then my disaster. I'm in the eye of the storm when it comes to Lincoln buying back my vehicle. Not one person on their level had seen a new vehicle delivered so poorly to a customer with this many paint and body issues. Lincoln had me bring the vehicle to the dealerships body shop to calculate the cost of repairing everything. 6 panels needs to be fixed and repaired/repainted. They know I'm not excepting repairs but it's a step needed to finalize things on their end. Keeping my fingers crossed. Too many positive stories on here not to get the same Lincoln experience as others. Looking foward to getting this resolved and starting fresh.

Amazing they are still letting vehicles leave the factory with out fixing this issue for close to a year now. That last picture is by far the worst one I've seen. Obvious concern during washes your mit or towel will grab an edge and the paint will flake off making the situation worse. Could only imagine the issues 2-3 years down the road. These bumpers will only get worse. How does qc miss this?
-
Looks like you have it on pic 1,3,4 and the last one. Not terribly noticeable like mine. Did you notice it? It's obviously a qc issue with this color only. Wonder if it's the tri coat process and too much paints being applied to the area or the force needed to install the sensors is too much for this paint?
-
How do your front sensors look?

I completely agree with everything you said. I belive the issue would be trying to sell the Lincoln franchise. Even in a big city such as Los Angeles, how many Lincolns are going to be sold a month? Probably not enough to make ends meet in terms of over head and man power. I took ownership on 5/28/16 of my 2016 MKX. I've seen one other on the road since that day. 3 if you include older models. I commute to Los Angeles. This imo speaks numbers about the brand. I personally thought it would be great to be different and go for a vehicle you typically don't see on the road. BIG MISTAKE.

Lincoln will never be able to separate them selfs from Ford as a luxury brand with their poor customer service. I give them credit for trying with this black label charade but the fact remains it will always be a Ford product that comes with sub par service. They just don't understand the average Lincoln customer is dropping $50k of the mkx. We just expect more.

Inspection Suggestions Prior To Accepting A New MKX From The Dealer
rst08tierney replied to Timmer's topic in 2016 MKX
I took my time. Lighting and shadows hide defects. Most people have no clue what they are looking for and the common consumer has no idea on how to look for previous repairs. An independent inspector will lift the car and be able to see things that are hidden with paint meters and their own lighting. Am I paranoid? Absolutely. Only takes once to get burned. My mkx has 5 panels that have been repainted. $200 bucks could have saved me all this stress and the ridiculous buy back process that's going to take 1-4 months. -
Inspection Suggestions Prior To Accepting A New MKX From The Dealer
rst08tierney replied to Timmer's topic in 2016 MKX
Pay for an independent inspection!!! Don't get burned like I did. Make sure to request any and all repairs from transportation or the dealership. Make sure to get their answers in writing. You'll be looking at $200 for the inspection but it's well worth the extra piece of mind. Good luck. The MKX has so much potential, hopefully it works out for you. -
UPDATE: Received a second very promising call from Lincoln wanting to resolve my problems and address getting me a new vehicle. Again, have a feeling most of it was scripted. Definitely not holding my breath but it gave me a glimmer of hope things might actually get taken care of to my liking.
-
Another pic of a bend in the roofs line. Can someone else shoot me a picture of their roof if possible?
-
What is this color called? Im a big fan of the 21's but perelli comes standard so expect $1000 for new tires when the time comes for oem replacement
-
Unfortunately when your burned you learn very valuable life lessons. For all my future new vehicle purchases I will be treating them just like a used vehicle. I will pay for an independent inspection. Most important lesson though, you can't trust anyone in this money hungry world we created. Trust has become obsolete.

Now touching on state franchise laws. I don't know how car dealerships are run but I've been a franchisee of a California based QSR chain for over 15 years and I'm required to have all of my locations run and operated to minimum compliance set by my franchisor or heavy fines and implications are at stake. Corporate numerous times has stepped in to clean up mistakes to save face for the brand. If im doing something to potentially damage the brands image I'm hearing about and being told how to fix it to their liking.

Let's say for argument sake the dealership is dirty of the following. Intentional Misrepresentation of a damaged vehicle is fraud Intentional Retention and non disclosure of service records when requested at the time of purchase is fraud Lincoln would need to act in cooperation with the dealership to clean things up. It's much easier to comply with a customers request then potentially receiving negative localized and national press.
