BrettS
Can anybody help me figure out what my transmission ratio is? I have a FWD 2008 MKX. How can I tell if I have a 3.16 or 2.77 transmission ratio? I can't figure it out. The trans code on the door tag is J, which just means it's a 6F50 trans. The vin is 2LMDU68C28BJ25860. There's a part number on the trans which is RF9E9P-7006-AA. But that appears to be just the part number of the trans case. Any help figuring this out would be very much appreciated. Cosmos36
The FINAL drive ratio is 3.16 according to every source I read online.
BrettS
There are 2 different transmission ratios for the front wheel drive MKX's (only 1for AWD). 3.16 and 2.77. And most are 2.77. There is allegedly supposed to be one of these ID numbers on the trans somewhere telling you which one you have. But none of these numbers appears anywhere on the trans. So I need to find another way to figure out my ratio. 2008 Lincoln MKX Transmission AT, AWD AT, FWD, 2.77 ratio, ID 7T4P-7000-CB AT, FWD, 2.77 ratio, ID 7T4P-7000-CC AT, FWD, 3.16 ratio, ID 7T4P-7000-AB AT, FWD, 3.16 ratio, ID 7T4P-7000-AC
BrettS
Since nobody would help me, I thought I would give the answer to help anyone who searches for this topic in the future and finds my post. It is a 3.16 ratio, part number 7T4P-7000-AC. I called a Ford dealer with the vin and they were able to tell me what it is from the vin. There is supposed to be a sticker on the transmission with this information. The sticker is there, but you can no longer read anything that is on it after 15 years. Thanks Ford for using a sticker instead of a metal tag. That was a really smart decision 😞

If anybody knew the answer they would have replied. Don’t whine because you’re lazy.
BrettS
Nope, I’m not mad at all. It would seem that reading comprehension isn’t your strong suit. If it was, you would see that the reason for my post was to help any future members who search this topic.

Then you should have said “since nobody was able to help me” as opposed to “ since nobody would help me.”
BrettS
Nobody was able to, and nobody did. I don't think I hurt anybody's feelings with my choice of words. But hopefully this will help someone who searches for the same issue in the future. Because as time goes on, these transmission stickers will become harder and harder to read. Mine is a 2008 and it is totally unreadable. So I'm sure there are many more out there that are the same.
