Cup holder and sharp door edges

Hi All

I am trully enjoying my new, used 2016 lincoln MKX

but do have couple questions

1. I spilled coffee in the cup holder, and was able to remove the black rubber coaster, but unable to remove the clear hard plastic and I can see coffee underneath this,

How can I clean this? I would like to not have the plastic piece at all as Im sure I'll spill more stuff

It doesnt seem removable

I also wish the cup holder was bigger that my 32 oz water bottle would fit like in my old murano

2. The door edge just below where the window meet the door are really sharp that I already cut myself opening the backseat passenger side.

Anyone else has similar issue?

Thank you very much!!!

I don't have a 16 so I'm thinking out loud.

Concernining the sharp edge, believe I'd try adding a small piece of automotive door trim to cover thsy edge. Heres an example of what I'm thinking:

As far as the cup holders, I'm guessing that you'll need to pull out the cup holder assembly and remove the bottom from the underside. If the 2016 assembly copies the cup holders from previous years, it just pries out from above. (Usually the assembly consists of the cup holders and the surrounding plastic base).

Before you try this, have you thought os sticking a vacuum cleaner wand into the bottom.of the cup holder and try to suck out the liquid?
