KS49 Posted March 28, 2019 Report Share Posted March 28, 2019 Hey everybody! New MKX owner and new to The Forum. So far I absolutely love the mkx. But I'm interested in changing out the stock hid headlamps with a 6000k bulb. However it looks like it is a bit of a hassle to change out a headlamp. Does anybody have any tips? elijahbird7 Posted April 20, 2019 Report Share Posted April 20, 2019 On my 2016, I had my first driver's side headlight unit replaced at 1800 miles. A loose screw was inside the unit. The bumper has to come off to replace it. I asked the Sales Manager how much that cost Lincoln, answer was $2800. Then this past winter, the passenger side unit was gathering moisture inside that would not go away, so that one was replaced under warranty as well. Love the car but that's awfully steep for a headlamp assembly. Anyone have experience fixing it or with getting someone other than the dealer to fix it.
