Dumby Posted June 1, 2018 Report Share Posted June 1, 2018 I have 6/13 on my calendar for the new Nautilus Order Guide to be posted. When I went back and looked at a past Order Guide, it was lacking a lot of detail. It did not list what equipment was included in the different models like Reserve or packages like Technology or Driver's Assistance. Maybe I am not looking at the correct item - what I am seeing says fleet preview guide. If that is the same as the order guide, at what point will Lincoln put out a more detailed listing of standard and optional equipment by model and package? The 2018 internet site for the MKX was not updated until the models were already on the dealer's lots so I don't think that will help someone as curious as I am. The dealers probably like the delay so they can clear out last year models but the Nautilus holds a lot of appeal for me at this point. I would really like to get a new vehicle before I have to put some major money into my wife's 2006 CRV. She will inherit my 2014 Escape as she has little interest in driving anything new. Some real pluses and minuses. Granted that we are comparing a full redesign with a mid-cycle refresh (not that customers are going to care), Acura really seems to have upped the ante on the RDX. It looks like it will win on handling, interior, and technology. Nautilus looks to be ahead on it's power plant (unlike Lincoln, Acura offers no upgrade from it's turbo in-line 4), interior comfort and a few technology items like wireless charging and Google's Android Auto (the RDX's new infotainment system is currently only compatible with Apple's CarPlay, though I expect that will change). Which points to another possible Acura advantage, or disadvantage: the new touchpad. And as for external styling, I prefer the look of the Nautilus, but that is totally subjective and honestly the RDX looks pretty good. One final issue: reputation. They've got a close relationship with Google so there is a version coming that will also enable all features of the touchpad. I still think touchscreen interfaces make infinitely more sense. I don't think the Lincoln is more comfy inside. I have the 22 way seats and think they're ok but overrated. I'll bet anything the available 16way acura seats will work for most bodies better. The main disadvantages of the RDX to me will be in the drivetrain. The 2.7T is such a smooth powerful engine. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

walkabout Posted June 1, 2018 Report Share Posted June 1, 2018 (edited) Premium is a not required, to the best of my knowledge, it's recommended. That's basically the same engine that is in the Accord and will run fine on regular and also get way better mpg than the engines in our cars. Won't be nearly as smooth or have the same level of torque. The transmission shifter is a bit odd but many say that about the buttons on the lincolns (which I personally really like).
