jimmkx2k11
Hello, In my 2017 mkx, when I turn on a heated seat, I hear a fan or blower turn on in the rear of the vehicle, which I assume will blow hot/cool air to the seats. Is that correct? I guess I'm used to a heating element/pad in each seat that makes no sound and heats up rather quickly. Thanks for any info. akirby
That's because your seat heats AND cools (to some degree at least). A heating element can't provide cold air so they use a Peltier device. It provides either hot or cold air depending on the polarity of the electrical connection. A fan then blows the hot or cold air into the perforated seats.
enigma-2
Might also add that (on mine at least), the fan only come on low in the heat mode & low-medium-high in cooling). The fan is located under the seat and has a filter (or just a fan guard) over the fan.
BrendaCW
Can the seat heaters come on when you use the key fab to auto start on a 2017 MKX Reserve
