Recommended Posts

Hello I have a 2008 mkx and the Trans won't move.

Park to drive or reverse... nothing happens. Mechanic changed the oss tss sensors and called to say still not shifting into gear.

Any help or experience with this issue is greatly apreciated!!!

When you step on the brakes, do the brake lights come on?

1. Check fuse #71 in the fuse panel under the hood.

2. There is a brake pedel position switch located at the back of the brake peddle somewhere. The switch makes certain you are stepping on the brake when you attempt the shift out of park or neutral. If it fails, it thinks that you are not stepping on tbe brake.

  • 7 years later...

I am having the same problem in my 08 MKX AWD.  I changed the fluid cooler, radiator and condenser. I've added at least 8 quarts since replacement. Transmission would violently jerk when around 40 mph. but fine on highway. put in drive or reverse and car does not move. Am going to tow to dealership any suggestions?
