MMJ
Our 2016 Lincoln MKX has cool/heat seats in the front and heat seats in the back. The rear heated seats work. The front passenger cool/heat seat function works. But the driver’s seat cool/heat function does not work. Any ideas on what might be the issue. I checked the fuses and when I turn on the cool function for the passenger side, I can hear the fan under the seat come on. When I turn on the cool function for the driver’s seat, I don’t hear and fan come on. And, the seat does not heat either. Any insight as to what is going on? akirby
If the fuse is good and you’re sure you checked the right one it’s either the switch or the peltier module. Check voltage at the model under the seat.
MMJ
I have to admit that I’m not sure what the module under the seat looks like. As for the switch, if I press the button on the dash, the blue light indicating that the cooling function is on lights up. Also, if I press the button for heating on the same seat, it also come on, but I get neither cooling nor heating at the driver’s seat. Is there another switch location you might be referring to? akirby
The switch might light up but still not work. Under the seat you should see a small fan - that’s the fan and peltier device.
MMJ
Does the Peltier device, when working properly result in heating the seat? Or, does it only support offering ‘cooling’ to the seat? If the Peltier device was not working, would it prevent the fan under the seat from working? I ask that because when I turn on the cooling on the passenger side, the fan under that seat works. Whereas, the fan under the driver’s seat does not come on when the cooling button is pressed. Thanks, Mike Peltier does both that’s why it’s used. To diagnose you’ll have to check voltage at the fan.
