Wayne Posted July 25, 2017 Report Share Posted July 25, 2017 I bought my 2016 Lincoln MKX last June new. For the past several months I've experienced at least 10 times a problem with the Power Liftgate. Opening has never been a problem. Getting it to stay closed has. There was nothing in the cargo area to stop the liftgate from closing. On different times after the liftgate was open I would press the close button. It would go all the way down and act as if it was going to stay closed. Then it would not lock and come back up. I then tried the closed button on the liftgate again but nothing happen. I even pressed the button on the electronic key and the button inside the car. Still would not close. Had to finally close it by hand and it locked and stayed shut. Another time I opened the liftgate, unloaded the items and pressed the close button. Thinking it was closed as I walked away I still turned around to double check but it was back up. Once again had to closed it by hand. Was recently on vacation and took the luggage out of the cargo area. Went to close the liftgate and had the same problem. But this time it took me five times before it finally locked. Glad I did not have to take it a dealership when I was out of town. Any and all advise to this problem will be appreciated. Thanks.
