I'm no expert on it, but I remember reading somewhere that these cars have a reset or calibration mode for the lift-gate. I no longer have my MKX....Check the owners manual for a reset lift-gate procedure of some sort.

Welcome. The way I understand it, you can only use the Navigation player as a DVD player if you have that specific head unit installed. Lincoln used a few head units in these cars. I believe MKXs with the "entertainment package" have the screens in the back of the front seat headrests. If you have the entertainment package, DVDs will not play up front in any gear other than park. If your MKX does not have the DVD playback unit, then your head unit will only acknowledge the Navigational Data Discs. I have the Navigation THX system without DVD. I tried to play a movie in disbelief. After installing the disc, the entire unit froze for about 4-5 minutes. I panicked thinking I messed up my stereo and then the DVD ejected by itself. As for the cold engine tick, mine has always had a slight cold tick. My ticking goes away soon after it warms up.

Hey there Woodycrph. I also owns an '08 MKX with the chrome clad 20 inchers. To chime in on your question, our wheels are not plastic. The wheel (rim) is actually made of unfinished aluminum. The face of the wheel is rather grainy and dull. The "chrome-clad" part is just a highly chromed foil covering that is trimmed and bonded to a plastic wheel cover. Then that plastic wheel cover is bonded to the unfinished aluminum rim. Makes it look all purrty and shiny. Hee Hee.. From my experiences, the chrome clad wheels are easier to clean, more resist to rust and look better than true chrome wheels. However, they are expensive to replace...so be careful with the curbs and potholes... Ask me how I know Enjoy
