I have been looking around to find an answer to no avail. I have a female friend with a 2008 MKX, with the power lift gate. It appears as though these early models have issues with the power lift gate. Hers also doesn't work. We live in Michigan (snow and salty roads. She is looking a buying a no damage lift gate in white to replace her current gate as the bottom edge looks like crap from the rust that's starting there. I assume that the manual lift gate is cheaper than a power one. She is OK without having a power gate. Will the manual gate install in place of her power gate? What, if any steps need to be taken to do that. I've sourced a gate with no damage at a salvage yard about 25 miles away, also in white. Will there be any difficulties using a manual gate instead of power gate. Thank you to all that reply in advance!
