Hello all,
After a recent flat tire that a friend helped my with, I can't figure out how to get the jack back in the spare tire well, and how it fits in relation to the spare tire and center peg. While I was dealing with the swollen lug nuts with a 4-way lug wrench, my buddy took out the spare and jack, and now doesn't remember how everything was stored.
I've read the manual for my 2016 MKX Reserve, and checked youtube and google, and I can't seem to find a reference pic. I have the spare tire, the large nut that goes over the spare, the jack, lug wrench / jack handle combo, and the smaller plastic nut that attaches the jack.
Can someone with a 2016+ MKX with a spare tire (not an inflator set) please take a pic inside their spare tire well to show me how the jack sits? I'd be even more appreciative if you can grab a pic of how the jack handle/lug wrench combo attaches to the jack.
Lessons I've learned with this:
My buddy has the memory of a goldfish.
Check your spare tire pressure more often -- I was at 20 psi instead of 60 when I finally got it on the car.
The factory lug nuts on my MKX were 2 piece, and they swelled up when exposed to moisture, making the factory lug wrench not fit. If you haven't done it yet, change your lug nuts to a set of solid ones, so you don't have to pay the tire shop prices when they have to do it.
Thanks in advance for your help.
