Pastor Lou
Hi, Is there any way of adjusting or increasing the NR in my 2016 MKX Reserve? Thanks
akirby
You can take out the seats and carpet and add sound deadening material. Otherwise - no.
enigma-2
Only think I can think of, possibly better tires. Noise generated by the tires will be carried throughout the chassis.
akirby
Tires are the biggest issue on our 2016 Reserve. For the first 10K they were bank vault quiet. The next 12K they got noisier and noisier until I just replaced them. I think one of them was damaged or threw a belt - hoping the new set doesn’t have that problem. On the 21s you really only have one decent all season choice - the OEM Pirelli scorpion verdes.
Pastor Lou
I have about 10k miles on my Pirelli Scorpions. In the past I've had several sets of Pirelli and I also like Michelin. I guess what threw me was some reviewers said how quiet it is. Its not bad but I think my MKS was a tad quieter. But still this is not bad. I like the car, it's AWD and good in the snow so I won't squawk. Thanks for your input.
