gags
I have a 2011 Lincoln MKX and need to purchase an aftermarket backup camera. I have decided on going the aftermarket route as the dealer price is quite costly. After lengthy research online I get the feeling that purchasing an aftermarket backup camera is nothing but a crap shoot. Some people have problems with reliability and installation …. Yet some people have good experiences. Some people get the camera grid/guide lines yet some people don’t get the grid/guide lines and if they do, they lose them soon after the replacement install. So my question is … can anyone suggest and/or recommend a good quality reliable aftermarket camera? Thanks, g. Victoria, BC Canada

RCT
I have a 2013 MKX with a back up camera issue as well. I would like to check the wiring of the camera first before purchasing an after market camera. Does anyone know of a video that shows how to change out a 2013 MKX back up camera? Thanks. RT PS - I've seen the video on this thread before but it is for a Ford Edge not the MKX.

2011mkxCA
Thought I would post on here, in case someone is searching in the future. Based on my research for a replacement backup camera for my Canadian market, 2011 MKX, I think I discovered that there are different cameras for Ford Edges and Lincoln MKXs. I ordered the correct aftermarket camera for the MKX, and it went in easily, with no modifications necessary and no cutting of wires or changing orientation. I even got the lines back on the camera without any calibration needed. I ordered the part number BA1Z-19G490-B. This worked perfectly. I was dreading the install because I assumed it would require work, but didn't. I ordered this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/394795001648 I believe the incorrect part number, which corresponds to the Ford Edge, is BT4Z-19G490-B (or something starting with a BT4Z). When you look on Ford's part sites, it says these are compatible with the MKX, but my gut is that they actually aren't fully compatible, or the aftermarket versions are somehow now compatible. Hope this helps someone. CARR142
