Hi all,

I have 21in pirelli scorpion Verde original tires on my 2017 reserve mkx. It is time to replace and I am trying to decide between the scorpion plus all season and Michelin all season.y current tires have a smooth and quiet ride but reviews are not great. Scorpion all season and Michelin have great reviews. Just hard to decide. Any input? I live in central texas, car is garaged, and my biggest want is quiet and confort drive

Month ago just replaced my original equipment Pirelli's 21 inch on my 2017 MKX Reserve at 41000miles with these:

RIDGESTONE
ALENZA AS ULTRA
Crossover/SUV Touring All-Season

  • Size: 265/40R21 105V XL
  • Style: Blackwall
  • Load Range: XL
  • Serv. Desc: 105V
  • UTQG: 800 A----------------after 1,000 miles of highway and city driving, am very pleased with tire.  Good handling, very quiet and comfortable. They were hard to find, but ordered thru Tire Rack with local installation.

I would imagine that you would be happy with either. I'm running Pirelli's and am well satisfied.

But do you have the 21” Pirellis?  Mine had to be replaced at 23K miles (twice) due to noise.

I'm running 245/50 R20 Pirelli Scorpion Verde's. No problems so far. (Either car).

How many miles until they got noisy?

I read in the reviews where owners in the 21" & 22" sizes were only getting 30-35k before replacing. (Got noisy and no tread left).

Also in hot climates, such as desert southwest. Driver thought the road asphalt was too hot for the tires.

One other driving 22" complained about getting noisy after cupping. That of course is an alignment issue. (Although I know better, it's stupid question time, did you have the  alignment checked after installing)?
