enigma-2
As akirby said, wiring, grounds being loose or corroded. Other possibilities include instrument cluster (IPC), faulty alternator and defective PCM. First, pull the codes. (I assume the garage has already done this). If there are codes it will direct the service technician to the alternator, battery or wiring. If there are no codes, the service manual takes you to the instrument cluster. From here you must use a scan tool and follow the procedure. It's designed to isolate whether the fault lies with the instrument cluster or PCM. enigma-2
New battery, alternator and PCM. I still would be suspicious of the alternator connections. Broken wire, loose, corrosion. Has to be in this area.
