I am going to take a real close look at it when it arrives and see which option is the better of the two. Keep the entire installation in tact, or loose the hitch and have the notch. I am thinking the notch is not so bad , as many bumpers do have a notch . 10 days or so and we will see.

Something else to consider is one of these hitch covers.

Back in the day I had a two Mountaineers and three F150s where I just got nice Mercury and Ford hitch covers for each vehicle. I was very pleased with them.

I always preferred an inconspicuous cover. This is what I had for the F150s: https://goo.gl/images/BHJKpu

I had similar ones with the Mercury logo for the Mountaineers. Unfortunately I'm not finding any like this with the Lincoln logo

So now I have a decision to make.  It seems the dealer had a new kid on the block entering new vehicle orders over the holidays , and there were two Nautilus orders To be entered at the same time. It seems that these two customer factory orders were mixed up by the kid entering them into the system so each order has a bit of each.  So what we end up with is my Blue Diamond with shale, 2.0, Tech Pack, Driver pack , trailer tow, cargo Pack, roof rails. Second car is Rhapsody Blue, Coffee interior, 2.7, Tech Pack, Driver pack, cargo Pack. Both ordered within 10 minutes of each other , next digit serial number, and just landed yesterday. My dealer is offering me either car , ( second car will cost me more) as the other order is for someone and he does not want Blue so he is getting a different one for him from another dealer. I originally ordered coffee interior and changed it to shale as my wife did not like the coffee interior.  Thoughts?  Not a huge fan of the Rhapsody Blue, yet it is nice when clean and outside.

Shoeguy, I haven't driven the 2.0. Only the old 3.7 naturally aspirated V6 and the 2.7 twin turbo V6. All I can say is that the 2.7 is an absolute joy. So glad to have gotten my Nautilus back yesterday after driving a 3.7 MKX loaner for a week. Granted, I do hear that the 2.0 has pretty nice low-end torque, giving it better around-town responsiveness than the old 3.7, and for most folks the engine is plenty adequate. But oh, that 2.7!

I looked at the Rhapsody several times, and the Blue Diamond has a lot of "sparkle-metallic" when the sun shines on it.  I also thought the Rhapsody was quite dark, almost looking Black.  So, if your dealer has both colors in stock, take your time to look them over.

Going over to Look at it later today. I really do not want the upcharge on the 2.7 ,even though I know it is a great engine. I do like the coffee interior.  Will see. I will take some pictures and see what the second in command has to say. My build is slated for April 1 appx landing.

What a clusterF...never heard of anything like this happening.

This is what happens when you give a job to a nubie , what gets me is nobody checked the DORA for either order. My guess is they were so busy during the holiday period as certain things that are taken for granted got overlooked.

I give you credit. You seem to be handling it much more calmly than I would be...

Hi Jeff. What can you do , sh... happens. I do get frustrated by it , yet it is only a car.  Thank gd not a health issue. Either way I will end up a happy camper.

Ok, since the Rhapsody Blue one came in early, what's the chance the Blue Diamond one will as well?

Since the dealer has caused this issue, ask them not to sell the Rhapsody Blue until the Blue Diamond arrives, them park them outside together and give you some time to look them both over and then choose which one you like best.  It sounds like your lease is not up so soon that you have to make a quick decision.

Hey Elijahbird.  Taking the second in command to look at the Rhapsody tonight, as she was the one in the first place that said she did not like the coffee interior with blue. See what she has to say.  Taking her also to another dealer to look at a blue diamond /shale. Happy wife happy life. LOL

You'll likely be happy to have the OEM hitch, shoeguy.

As others have said, even if you never use it, it will help the resale / trade-in value...

The roof side rails will dress up the vehicle a bit, IMO...  They cannot be added post-production by the dealer, so if you ever want to use a cargo box or other rooftop accessory I think you'll be happy to have them as well...
