MKX2016 Posted June 5, 2018 Report Share Posted June 5, 2018 I am thinking of upgrading my phone to a Samsung S8 and am driving a 2016 MKX with My Lincoln Touch. Does the S8 sync up OK with that system? Lincoln's online compatibility list only goes as high as the S6. I would like to hear from anyone that has the S8 and what features they can use. walkabout Posted June 5, 2018 Report Share Posted June 5, 2018 I have a Note 8. I have sync 3 in my 2016 mkx. Zero problems with Sync 3 and zero problems syncing to MLT in loaners. However, I'm sure that if the S-8 isn't currently working with your carrier it will be with the next OS upgrade. Month or so at the most. When I bought my S-5 it paired ok, but didn't do text messaging. That was fixed with a Samsung upgrade about 5 weeks later. So the S-8 will probably work, but a specific feature like text messaging may require an OS upgrade. Go fur it.
