greyfox47
Hi, I took delivery on a 2017 MKX about a month ago. When I hit or roll over anything like a railroad track or drive on gravel road or equivalent, I hear a rattle that I swear is coming from the driver's door upper speaker. Though I could easily be wrong, I've got to start somewhere before I discuss the issue with my dealer. On some days, I can easily repeat the rattle, others, not so lucky. The dealer will likely do nothing unless he can also repeat it. Does anyone have any info on removing trim to get to the speaker so I can, at least, check its mounting? Thanks. NOTMY911
Rattle can be a pain to pin point... Take some one with you and go over the track route. Ask them to sit in the back behind you and do not tell them were you think its coming from.

greyfox47
Rattle was a heat shield. An earlier visit with a very similar noise was thought to be a connecting tab of some kind. I personally think that the passenger side heat shield was the culprit all the time. Needless to say, I'm pretty grateful to a Loveland Ford Lincoln tech named Josh Papp!
