rst08tierney
Sorry some are blurry Yikes, your making white look alright! Curious, is the black a tri coat process or just a base/clear?
rst08tierney
Good luck! I hope it works out for you. If they end up taking it back, will you be getting another MKX? If everything goes smoothly and I can order one from the factory and inspect it before purchasing yes. If I'm committed to buy before an inspection probably not. I'll end up spending 5k more and getting the new Jaguar F Pace prestige. MSRP for my build is a tad over $60k because of the 22inch upgraded rims. mmoretti
Really? We had no idea....... Oh akirby I thought you didn't care about my posts and weren't going to comment anymore, you broke your promise - knew you couldn't stay away Since you did comment and sarcastically as well I will add some more info about the truth of poor Lincoln quality since I know you LOVE LOVE LOVE it! Here's some more! On top of my new added QC issue of the paint, a new one just came out for us MKC owners. For 18 months I drove my young son around in a vehicle whose door latches just come open while driving. How nice. Wonder how long they knew this one and denied it. Check out Lincoln facebook page for the lady from NJ whose kids almost fell out three times while she was driving. Her dealership(another top notch NJ dealer LOL) said there was no problem first then said they fixed it when they didn't. Lincoln deleted the posts she made showing her communication with the dealer and Lincoln -what a joke. Deny, deny deny.. HUGE SAFETY ISSUE. http://www.seattlepi.com/business/article/Ford-recalls-830K-vehicles-to-fix-faulty-door-9122132.php At first they said it was only one car that reported injury but come on, its more than one to issue a whole recall, PLUS offer to replace the latches on the doors that don't fall into the time period (different article) http://fortune.com/2016/08/04/ford-recall-america/ Then they first said only warm weather states (interesting as the problem reported in Oregon and NJ - 35 miles from me!) Now they have backtracked and said high sunlight too...So that's pretty much everyone in the summer. But they are only focusing on the south right now and putting my son in jeopardy. I drive him back and forth to school every day in just a few weeks and I wont be able to drive my car with him in it. NOTHING BUT THE BEST FROM LINCOLN Then when they do decide the rest of the country deserves to be safe I have no dealer to take it to thanks to Lincoln and dealer lies unless I want to drive over 90 minutes to another state to try yet another terrible dealer/service department http://fortune.com/2016/08/04/ford-recall-america/ Don't hate the messenger akirby - I'm not the one at the plant building these cars - I'm not the dealership lying - I cant change what happened to me and the quality of my car - I'm not Lincoln not responding or taking responsibility. I wish I could change what happened but I cant. Lincoln and the dealer(s) will reap what they sow. Poor quality and service will sink them just like it was before, pretty cars and nice ads don't make for true luxury cars and I'm living it first hand. so are others that have quality issues and expect more from a 60+K car. Its reality. Remember - before you comment again - that I bought my car for a reason and loved it like you guys do too, its not my fault (like I said, I'm not at the plant building these cars) that the quality and Lincoln sucks. No one is more disappointed than me. I wish things could have been different but it is what it is unfortunately. I hope anyone else with a Lincoln can enjoy their cars and feel they received a quality car for the money they spent. I unfortunately cannot. Yikes, your making white look alright! Curious, is the black a tri coat process or just a base/clear? Ha Ha, white alright - that's funny. Black definitely isn't though, going to post some clearer shots with my real camera.. What should I be looking for in my roof lines? I don't have great eyesight and rarely notice these things unless I'm really looking. When I detail my car I see all the flaws but if it doesn't glare at me I usually don't notice.or am not too bothered by it. BUT as stated, its the cumulative lack of quality that's a problem and across models.. Paint cracks, big gaps in my cars panels, hatch that allows dirt inside, doors that allow dirt and rocks inside, interior finish problems, my list goes on and on unfortunately.... and this is small part of my list :-( And I don't or wont nlotice half the things you guys do LOL I'm not sure if their flake process is a tri-coat or not. I don't know all that much about painting cars but with flake I know they can either do a midlevel clear paint with the flake over the base then do a clear coat, or they can mix the flake into the clear coat and do several coats over the base to get the desired flake level..so its kind of in between the true "tri coat process" which can also be different depending upon the manufacturer. I would love to mix my own paint for my car Edited August 23, 2016 by mmoretti
mmoretti
Now that I look at mine I can barely see it on your white LOL Jeez...
mmoretti
Oh, and I forgot to add..if I took this to the dealer I bought it from (the one who blamed me for all of Lincoln's quality issues - literally) They would say I bumped the car against something to make it crack - 100% Then I would go out on their lot and show them 50 cars with it--no apology, still blame me for the problems with the car - again top notch service from Lincoln! Its the deny/hide/blame the customer strategy ... let me know how that works out for you in a few years Lincoln (when no one buys another Lincoln like people in the MKC forum talk about) Luxury customers really LOVE to be blamed for manufacturer/deaer issues - yeah! rst08tierney
mmoretti Interesting.....my neighbor has an mkc and just parked it for over 2 months in the same spot with out moving it an inch. They have kids. Even stranger they have been driving around in an edge with a dealership sticker in the window for the same time. Looks like im making a new friend today. Wonder if the door latch is an issue for them. You need to look at your seam line on the roof where the sail panel connects with the roof. They did a shoddy job at the factory with out wiping down and prepping the rail properly before painting. Check out my pictures in the other thread. You can see chunks of the sealer in my paint all over the sides of the roof. (remember though, a portion of my roof has been re-sprayed but its not shown in those pictures) Lincoln has the right idea but they need to fix these very simple issues before the vehicle leaves the factory. My issues are Its 2017, how can you not paint a car properly? How can you be rebuilding a brand with out proper quality control? They have taken so much human error out of the process with machines, how can the few humans left in the factory drop the ball this hard? Hopefully they can fix things rapidly before social media sinks them for good. Its a new age and IMO Ford cant afford to make the mistakes they are making. I initially looked but not where you said (rails) The recall was just recently announced it seems. Lady on facebook was very upset, I would be too. Thankfully the doors have stayed closed for us but knowing its an issue and actual recall I cannot drive my son in it. I've had issues with the seatbelts he uses back there too so I'm extra nervous now. It was an extremely HOT summer here too and as we speak still in the upper 80's which is not usual for us but late august. Not good. ;-( Edited August 23, 2016 by mmoretti

Mine is black and the roof on the MKC is different but I cant see any issues on those areas on mine. Need to take it out of garage to look good though. But again, if I cant really see it without looking hard then I consider its not there Good luck with yours and what they decide to do to fix it... Cosmos36
My MKX just ate a CD. Since it never happens in other brands, domestic or import, I'm contemplating a new thread (aka horse) to beat up. But, I thought I'd put it to a vote on this forum first. To be continued? mmoretti
When someone doesn't have a real rebuttal/response to the thread (Lincoln quality issues that are glaring) these are the types of comments they have to post. rst08tierney

NOTMY911
My MKX just ate a CD... I think there is a warning about making you own CD's and putting label on them...
rst08tierney
UPDATE: With the **NEW** body shop estimates for the outstanding work to be performed added up with whats already been completed the amount of repairs needed to get my MKX to delivery ready will almost be touching $10k. I think its fair to say my build slipped through the cracks and who ever on Lincolns end reviews my case for final decision should approve the buy back. This car should have never seen a dealers lot. My hardest decision if approved will be staying with the brand or walking.
Cosmos36
NOTMY911...correct, but the CD that failed to eject was a new, packaged product.
NOTMY911
OK, we'll have to blame it on 中国制造, which is probably at both end; CD and CD player...
