When I am sitting in the driver's seat with the keys and my wife gets out of the front passenger seat the car does that double honk. Any way to get rid of that?

It means she left with the only working key and it’s letting you know not to drive off without a working key,  Try it with her fob only.  Then check your fob batteries.

Yes that is what it was... It went dead because the cooling fan won't stop running. I am guessing that is a bad relay?

Probably the fan controller.  Comes with new fans.  Be sure to use Motorcraft not aftermarket.

Nope, I’m not mad at all. It would seem that reading comprehension isn’t your strong suit. If it was, you would see that the reason for my post was to help any future members who search this topic.

Then you should have said “since nobody was able to help me” as opposed to “ since nobody would help me.”

Hello-New to this forum and not sure how to post, but here goes.  Have a burgundy 2010 MKX that I noticed has some dull spots on the roof where my window flags hit.  Looking for sugesstions on how to return the luster.  TIA

Mild rubbing compound and polish.  Protect with wax or ceramic.

Does the Peltier device, when working properly result in heating the seat?  Or, does it only support offering ‘cooling’ to the seat?   If the Peltier device was not working, would it prevent the fan under the seat from working?  I ask that because when I turn on the cooling on the passenger side, the fan under that seat works.  Whereas, the fan under the driver’s seat does not come on when the cooling button is pressed.  Thanks, Mike

Peltier does both that’s why it’s used.  To diagnose you’ll have to check voltage at the fan.

  6. If the fuse is good and you’re sure you checked the right one it’s either the switch or the peltier module.  Check voltage at the model under the seat.

    Dear Akirby,

As my fob “lock” function does not work I am now using the lock button inside the car which locks all doors AND since entering the permanent access code - the car has remained locked - overnight and all of today when driven and then locked

Too early to say the problem is truly solved - but we are hopeful

many thanks for your follow- up

    i will keep you posted

    Sincerely

    Roy

Is it possible there is a keyfob inside the vehicle somewhere?  There is a safety feature that prevents locking the fob inside accidentally but using the keypad overrides that.
