  1. There's a big difference in having it on a steering wheel or seat vs the headliner. Like you said , not hard to keep your hands off it. It looks pretty nice
  2. I have a modern heritage BL and in my opinion the leather seats, instrument panel, and alcatara headliner quality exceeds almost any car I've been in. The standard label is nice, but typical Lincoln materials. I got it for the materials. And don't forget the dark color wheels, they are unique to BL and make it stand out
  3. I got the part from the dealer, with the part number mentioned in the earlier post. I couldn't get it out with a credit card, but went to Harbor Freight and got the blue trim removal tool and used the tool that looked like a crowbar as others have said and it came right out. I didn't realize until I got into it that since the compartment is so small, you actually use the small end of the tool that's more of at a 90 angle to pry it open. It was actually harder to get one of the wire connectors off than the hub itself. Good luck to everyone. Review of the software, to be honest I don't get what all the rave is about. If you want to change radio stations or see the temperature you have to bounce out of the interface to sync 3. It just says "maps" on the home screen and when you touch it, it bounces back to carplay. I think it's pretty clunky.
  4. So they demo'ed a new feature at CES 2017 that I think went under the radar https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2017/01/04/ford-sync-smartphone-dash-sygic.html Everyone is raving over Car Play, but to honest I'm not crazy about it. I'd like to have better maps, voice searching that works, but it's just crazy to lose temperature display, climate controls, radio, etc. that's part of the native Sync 3 if you switch over to Car Play maps. If you watch the video in the link I posted, it shows them hitting the Nav button, and having an option between Ford/Sync and this Sygic app. I believe Waze has come out and said they will support the SDL (Smart Device Link), so I'd hope that when Ford releases this as a feature you could use Waze as the Nav choice. Hopefully they roll that feature out soon, but in my opinion rather than using CarPlay, if you can use Sync 3 but use third party Navigation apps, that should bring the best of both worlds.
  5. Thanks, I'll use that part number and pick up a hub soon. Appreciate the info

  7. Ruby, Thanks for the update that the hub is available If the part number matches except the prefix, I would assume it's the exact match, but can you confirm three points? - LED is still white - 1 or 2 USB ports - Second USB port (in the arm rest) still works Thanks
  8. I had called a week ago and the dealer said they still did not have any information on the MKX hub

    Audio Off

I didn't comment on this earlier when I read your original post because it sounded too obvious, but I also have the same problem some times with my phone. When it's last playing via USB from my phone, if I go to turn the audio on and the phone is not plugged in, it says AUDIO OFF in the same way. It should say can't find source or something more obvious. If you hit the audio button in the frame, then change source to FM, etc. it will fix it.
  10. I stopped into a different dealer this afternoon and they were familiar with the hardware upgrade. They said they had just received a 7 page instruction sheet for the MKC and have already updated several customers hubs. He said they expect the hub for the MKX to come out in a week or two and to check back. That's good news.
  11. I'm not in a hurry to update the hub, as I prefer to route the cable from the arm rest so losing that port would be a negative for me. If the 2017 model has the correct single port hub, that in theory would work the same, I'm surprised no one has found that part number yet. Any one have any luck?
  12. The MKX has one USB up front and one in the arm rest The ones on other posts for other cars have 2 ports in the same hub. Does anyone know if the "other Lincolns" mentioned have USB ports in different locations like the MKX, or if they are just in the front hub ? I'm just speculating but I wonder if that's the issue. To be honest , I snake the cable out of the arm rest , It would be a bummer if only the front one would work for this update.
  13. It's in the "my vehicles" portion, not under operate
  14. Shifting back to preventing this issue instead of fixing it.... I applied wax from Meguiars (looks great by the way) and I was very careful and did not notice any wax immediately on the trim After driving, I later noticed the white residue on a lot of surfaces.... wasn't sure what happened there but I wonder if it was trapped in cracks or areas around the trim and after driving the wind blew it out? I don't know, but there's wax in places I don't recall accidentally applying it. It's a lease, but could imagine if you kept the car long term and waxed twice a year, if those results were typical it would eventually be very bad! Anyone else surprised by where the residue is? Just curious how this happened as I feel I was more careful than the results show.
  15. Still no update from my dealer on the hub, but I'm going to call 1-2 other dealers in the area and see if they have any insight on part number, pricing, etc. Please post if anyone confirms info on the hub
