I have a 2018 MKX and joined in order to look around the forum. I also have a 2005 F-150 FX4 and had an ‘06 Escape which was my daily driver until we moved to western OK in 2021. I am an oldster - past 75. I still change my own oil and do minor stuff like change air filter, change cabin filter, etc. In the late 80’s and early 90’s I had a part time business fixing Jeeps for our son’s high school friends and adults. When the Jeep owners went to college, I transitioned to Mercedes, in part b/c I owned a 1985 300TD and in part b/c I lived 50 miles from a dealer and local owners wanted a trustworthy, fair priced local repair option. I worked for Ford years ago and ended up in an internal consulting group at WHQ within Finance Staff under the legendary McNamara whiz kid J. E. Lundy. This career path then led me to a major oil company in Oklahoma doing the same kind of work. I worked there until retirement in 2002. ‘Nuff said for now. I might add more later on.
