I had this same thing happen to my '16 Reserve. I didn't notice it driving but my son did -passenger when I gave him a lift. I had my dealer repair it and when I picked it up at $497, the shop mgr said to contact Lincoln and this should be covered.

I have the same model and turned mine off by going to: Settings then Vehicle then Mirror. The option Autofold can be un-checked here.
