I wouldn't go to Pep Boys I don't even think that they would take the time to mess with it- go to an independently owned garage where you are talking to the guy who owns the place and has a reputation to maintain, Might cost a few more bucks but it worth it in the long run

Take it to an independent garage- They use a "super flush" plus power back wash worked like a charm on my Pontiac 4 years ago should work on your MKX and a lot less expensive at 147000miles and no problems -The vehicle doesn't owe you anything. I also have a 2007 MKX  with 104000 miles. Besides tires and brakes I've replaced the PTO unit which is a common problem and I'm very pleased with the vehicle and we'll probably buy another MKX to replace this one -- Hope that this helps
