  1. Try here: Mark Laneve Vice President Ford U.S. Sales P.O. Box 6248 Dearborn, MI 48126 via email: mlaneve@ford.com
  2. It's cheap felt. Almost every American manufacturer uses it for their glove boxes and center consoles. You mentioned rubbing it with a rag, you could have made the situation worse.
  3. Fully understand the risk and know how these systems work. Did you skip over the section where people actually brick their systems? I have over 20 years experience on reprogramming on board computers and using lock pick devices. Personally I wouldn't touch anything running on a sync system. Edit... I'm a very big fan of the sync 3 system. I just feel it's controls so much on theses rigs that it's much better to leave it alone. VMCs were much easier to fix 10 years ago by pulling a simple fuse and getting the bootloader to recover the software.
  4. With how crummy service departments have been for Lincoln owners this screams disaster and voided warranty. This just gives dealers another reason not to perform warranty work regardless of state regulations.
  5. Ive shared this information in other threads but sice your leasing it won't matter much. If you ask, they typically will extend your bumper to bumper warranty to 10yr/100k with out hesitation. You might want to ask now. You could turn a profit selling the X instead of turning it in lease end but I think we both know depreciation Will be tremendous on these. An apology may be stretching it because that would mean someone would be assuming guilt. When you finally take delivery of your X again don't forget to look over everything. Especially the Drivers door jamb, USB ports and most importantly your leather seating.
  6. One of my main reasons for pulling the trigger on the X was for the "Lincoln Promise". A commitment to something better then average but they fell dramatically short in every aspect advertised. Build Quality - Fail Dealer Experience - Fail Lincoln Customer Service - Fail American Luxury Brand - Not even close
  7. I get it. All brands have issues but this is a poor attempt. For how few mkxs have been sold the number of reported fit and finish issues are staggering. Do a basic Google search. Read review articles. Toyota camrys also max out under 30k, avalon under 40k. The mkx is over 60k. Like everyone else states. You just expect more for your money.
  8. Should have mentioned I'm in California. Probably ¾ of the problem right there. My experiences and shared experiences from others have been with very large dealers. I could actually see a small town town dealer caring more.
  9. Most dealerships could care less. They are in the bussiness to sell cars fist. The repair side of the bussiness is a major thorn in their behinds. To make my point the owner of the dealership I delt with refused to give me a new x off their lot after being told to by compliance control. This all happened in person with two representatives flying out from Michigan to address my situation. Owner could care less because he knows at the end of the day Ford/Lincoln RAV would step in and cost him nothing. Service departs get terrible reviews everywhere for a reason. There's zero repercussions except a crummy yelp review that gets swept under the mat by recycling service writers every 6 months Your time needs to be spent pushing to get things done on a corporate level. They seem to be the only ones who care about protecting this tarnished brand .
  10. What color did you get.... 1700 miles sounds quite familiar
  11. Presumed quality over a Ford badged vehicle. Overall performance of the 2.7t
  12. I have a feeling you hit the nail on the head. You would expect a good dealer to take the time and actually use the PDI as a tool vs the PDI as hurdle. If more dealers took pride in inspections some of these superficial issues could be avoided but I have a feeling the dealerships are relying on the manufacture to get things correct right out of the gates. I live in a very large market. Los Angeles. Our dealers rack/stack and try to turn inventory out quickly with nominal ethic's or morals. (one dealership I visited added a mystery $995 to every Lincoln on the lot) Im not sure how much red tapes involved in a dealer refusing a vehicle directly from the manufacture?
  13. F paces seem to be plagued by a factory flood mid production. Kept me away for now. They were forced to source new/old vendors on the fly for springs and electronics. (yes Ford was a vendor, surprised?)
